my chica doesnt ride much, but she likes her Specialized Dolce
Terry saddles seems to get the go. is it the Fly?
Yeah shorts were my next question but… shorts aren’t as hard.
The woman is looking for something not for racing but for her road bike (she’d race if she had the time). She was really after something with the cutout and I told her that it might not be as good as you think…
I appreciate all of this info kiddos. It does appear that Terry has some sort of superior design technology…
I ride TT, track and road. Use Terry dragonfly (ladies). Started with the Liberator on my road bike. Its still there. The dragonfly is not as comfortable on the TT. Bought a Terry zero to try this year. HIGHLY recommend Terry.
Also note, trek now has a seat fit thingy. Send her to a trek dealer and she can sit on this bench kinda thing with gel in it. It will measure her ‘sit’ bones. That will give her an idea of how wide of a seat to get.
She should get a newer Terry. The (really) old ones had stitching around the cut out that was lethal. They have fixed that
Specialized has same.
Yeah; definitely figure out the right width for her. It makes all the difference to have your sit bones sitting on the right part of the saddle.
Also Specialized aren’t nearly as hideous at the terry saddles… just sayin’
I think Terry is a women-owned company, if that kind of thing matters to you or her.
i spent all day on a girl’s saddle and my business is still fucking numb
[quote=Scheezler]my mom has a WTB Deva she likes a lot.
i have WTB Devas on my road and cross bikes. good saddle. quite comfy. wide enough, but not too wide. the nose isn’t too long.
I use a specialized lithia and my bum loves it.
Mrs mander reports satisfaction with her tarck-recommended b17s.

sup 2 posts in half a year girl.
The lady says the terry she got is hurting her sit bones but not her lady areas. Wearing proper bike shorts. Does she need to just HTFU?
following this thread also…
I am just wondering if anyone thinks there lady friend expects the saddle to be as comfortable as the living room couch? We all know a poorly fit saddle sucks and the lady part pain is just wrong, but Is it possible that SOME of the problem comes from to hight of expectation. I M NOT HATTING this is a legit question. S and I have had this conversation. I love my saddles, but would not sit on them if the were not on my bikes or maybe one of those work stool creations.
A broken in brooks is as comfortable as the living room couch.

I mentioned this and almost had my head chopped off.
Lady says the sit bones are still sore (2 days since ride)
we had it and it went well. I think trying a lot of positions to see how each change effects the comfort was also a good thing to help her get the idea that it is more than just the saddle itself. S also reports multi day pain but still went out for a ride.
YES to the Brooks, but it might take some convincing, and I am out of the convincing game on in the information age.
Yeah… I knew about the measuring… I was just sort of feeling out the market I guess.
I think alot of it has to do with people expecting that biking is supposed to just be totally comfy. You have to want to be out on that bike to enjoy it. I’m lucky… my woman really enjoys biking. She doesn’t even really complain that her seat sucks, but I know it bothers her.
There is definitely a body break in period though. Even after that… during the racing season I really don’t ever get “back to normal”. But thats also a function of the mileage I put down, and the equipment I use.
if she doesnt ride often she might just need to get into riding shape
