Ladies. I am not lady.
I know seats are very specific to the individual… how many of you are using lady specific seats tho? My woman is hassling about seats. I need to know what’s up.

They’re called “saddles”, bro.
The Specialized ladies saddles have gotten the thumbs up from my lady friend. Not that she’s a cycling fanatic, but yeah, they make a difference.
(In the research I did before buying her a saddle, there was tons of support for the Terry saddles. I got a sweeeet deal on the Specialized, otherwise I probably would have gone for Terry.)
My ex liked her serfas ladies saddle… but it was a large semi fluffy padded seat… total opposite of the thinly padded flite that she used before. She was doing neighborhood/MUP cruises, and like 20miler charity rides. Top of drop bar type riding… she definitely wasn’t the speed demon I am… I think the only time she broke 15mph was with my hand on her back.
Pretty sure this is it… or at least very similar…

my special lady rides an aliante
My GF likes this one. We got it at a velo swap and she’s had no complaints.
i’ve heard the ladies’ turbo is actually a great saddle.
i’ve also seen a few go for pretty cheap on ebay recently.

Thats what I get for posting at 230am. In fact… I’m pretty sure i specifically went through and changed saddle to seat? Why? I don’t know.
Jen just got this
Terry Liberator X. Its pretty solid feeling.
Shes got a rather large botttttttttttttom so after much deliberation we figured something less squishy and more wide and solid would do the trick.
Im pretty certain that if it doesn’t work out I’ll hear about it very shortly.
I’ve heard a lot of very good things about the terry saddles, mostly the butterfly. When I worked at a shop that sold a lot of terry, I think about 90% of the women bought (and presumably liked) that model. I think the specialized saddles are popular now too.
If she likes a wider saddle then you might want to go with a women’s specific one, since that seems to be the major difference. Since I personally don’t like a super wide saddle I haven’t liked the butterfly or a '90s womens-specific brooks pro equivalent. Terry makes some models for different riding + butt styles; I used one of the narrower ones which I don’t think they make any longer.
My girl has three Terry saddles. Butterfly for commuting + Butterfly for touring + Damselfly for racing.
mrs. viking thinks the ones with the cutout look gorss.
she has a fizik vitesse sport, was pretty cheap. says is comfy.
my mom has a WTB Deva she likes a lot.
My girlfriend tried every saddle I had and now likes the specialized lithia gel. This discussion wouldn’t be complete without including shorts. Pearl Izumi mens, the padding in the womens shorts didn’t work for her at all. Wtb Deva on the new road bike, not sure about it yet.
My lady rides a Brooks B17s for commuting, a Vitesse sport for chamois-equipped road rides, and likes both.
springer brooks atmo
What experience are you basing that on, Matt?
The Specialized ladies saddles are popular at the shop.
I wont ride a saddle without a cutout… I also can’t really handle a saddle narrower than 143. This is why I really like specialized saddles - widths.
A lot of womens specific saddles are too wide for me (like 150mm). The 143 specialized are perfect… I have the lithia on my commuter and the jett on my road bike. I tried a fizik alliante out because its right about the width I like, but I just couldnt do without the cut out. Just wasn’t working for me anatomically, if ya know what i mean…
alliante
so funny… my girlfriend hates tarckbike and everytime she asks me a bike question you guys start up a thread that answers it perfectly! then i get to send her a link and look smug.
Well last I checked all of em had vaginas
Iam old tho
G/f has a Terry Fly Carbon that she likes a whole lot, and she likes the B17s. She didn’t like any of my saddles (Turbo, Flite, Swallow knock off, tester Alliante).
