Lemond Versailles vs. Cannondale 613

I haven’t been able to test either of them out yet, but will soon. Basically, one of these will be my first road bike purchase and I’m trying to size up the two in terms of how good of a deal they are. I’ve been reading tons of reviews online about each, but I still don’t know and I was hoping the tarck community could help me out. They’re both pretty much the same price at about $600-$650, but I’m leaning toward the Lemond, so I was looking to get some input from you all on what you think the better deal is:

Thanks.

The Lemond comes with a triple. :colbert:

I have no preference. I’m not going to get into racing (at least any time soon). I’ve ridden one of each before and I don’t really have strong feelings either way. I’m looking for some of your opinions on which you would go for and why or which is a better bang-for-the-buck thing most of all. Thanks.

The '07 and '08 do. This is an '06.
what are the wheels with the six13

and do you know why it doesnt have the stock fork
Just e-mailed him about it.

I guess he just bought the frame itself and built it up with parts he already owned or could get cheaply at the shop that he works at. The rear wheel is a Cannondale Double wall housebrand and the front is a CFX (pretty much c-dale house i guess).

I’ll admit, I still don’t know a lot about the quality of different road components, so do you think it’s worth the price or is a better deal than the Lemond all preferences aside?

Also, since Trek dropped Lemond as a brand, do you think this will affect their customer service ability or usefulness should I have a problem with the Lemond down the road?

I would totally get the Lemond. I have an older Poprad and love it. Steel! OX Platinum!

Lemonds are known to have long-ish top tubes. Which I’m good with, but not everybody is.

WRT customer service, you’re buying a used bike so it’s not really under warranty anyway.
