I have some stainless bits and bobs from work that might make a good lamp bracket for you Squirrell. I’ll track them down and drop at your place some time.
I think you should get the new IQ-X when it starts shipping in the next few months
Definitely considering this, also considering experimenting with the Sinewave in conjunction cuz curious
That would be awesome Jimmy, thanks!
feels bad man
when i have a perfectly fine iq cyo abcdefgq that i want to switch out for whatever new thing is coming
The great thing about slightly old dynamo lights is passing them down to dynamo-curious friends which can propagate the curiosity further.
Soon the bike trails will be free of the offensive seizure-inducing headlights and we shall claim victory.
^pics? Sounds like a good solution.
I’ve been riding with a Eyc mounted at the fork crown and the wheel casts a goofy dick shaped shadow on the ground.
wald basket x disc brake adapter x dyno lamp by yummygooey, on Flickr

Okay, that’s not what imagined at all but it looks nice. Hurmmmm really want more lights but I had better stick to what I’ve got.

tempting just to order and have it ship whenever.
DQ: Is there any reason why I shouldn’t put a dynamo on my Co-Motion rain bike? It’s what I plan to use for most of my winter training, and I like the idea of always having a light without having to worry about batteries or charging or whatever. I need some new wheels for it anyway, since I’m currently running crappy take-offs from my CAAD10. Thoughts?
No reason. Sometimes at 30+ you’ll feel a bit of vibration from the hub if the light is on. But then you’re doing 30+ in the dark so like it kind of doesn’t matter.
No reason not to
Great idea
I might even have a line on a fairly decent lamp for you too
Do it. You’ll never regret it.
Yassssss, it is your destiny, join the (not) dark side, let the dynamo alternating current flow through you.
Dooooo it. When it’s dark and rainy and shitty, those are the best times for dynamo lights. Leave them on all the time, demonstrated to help prevent cars from running you over. Just put a set on my wife’s bike and she loves it.
I guess the only concern is water ingress if you plan to ride in downpours. My luxos u got water in the button pod thingie in extended heavy rain (it malfunctioned but it eventually dired out and appears to be fine), and I’ve heard of water getting into lamp bodies. I’m sure tarck has info on dynolights that have proven themselves in a wet environment.

SEATTLE GROUP BUY??
Hmm. I’ll have to pay attention to this.
When I first got a dyno I put it on my ‘nice’ touring bike, and I also had a winter/rain/beater bike that I commuted on all winter.
Spring came around and I got out out the other bike and immediately i was like awww fuck why didn’t I put the good lights on the bike i’ve been riding in the rain and dark???
So winter rain bike is the first bike you should dyno is what I’m saying
