Yeah
You can run batteries on the bikes you don’t ride much
Dynamo in the winter is such a nice way to take care of yourself.
Even if you are randonneuring hard enough to need light all night, winter commuting is still probably going to be your #1 use case.
Do it. I’ve got a dynamo on my roadie and it’s awesome.
Which shimano hub is the one to get right now?
No one regrets a dyno
Piling on here. I sort of regret not doing the dyno light for the Charge. It’s the bike I ride the most these days.
dyno/guards on my steelie too, tops.
I’ve got a 20h one in a deep toroidal rim on my carbon road bike
it’s rare that I’ll ever build a front wheel without one
the only thing with having one is that it makes all your other bikes suck until they are similarly equipped
I heard you guys like dynamos…
When are they going to start making Dynamo rear hubs? I WANT MORE DYNO
Okay, so, sounds like I should get one!
What is the Tarck Approved model?
long ago in a land far a way Shimano did it for their original roboshifting Nexave Di2:
The front dynohub was just for the lights, and the rear charged the battery for the servos
they made a newer QR disc version relatively recently, dorks have used them on their recumbent trikes:

Lots of people have the SP pv-8. I’m gonna just get another shimano, though, because shimano.

that nexave di2 is cray
gonna build up a rear dynohub so i can have both lights and a front sp0k
If I were the kind of guy with disposable income, I would build up some stupid bike with two entire sets of top-end dyno lights just for trolling purposes
DH-3N80? I used that one for my rim-brake 700c dyno build, seems like the fanciest Shimano offering AFAIK.
I have the alfine centerlock version which has served me well for a long time.
I just bought another one so’s I can build a wheel to match my rear rim and have a spare dick dyno wheel around.

I agree 100%.
