Mr. Dilthey's own thread for posting jackass bikes that he likes.

Is the caliper in front of the rear leg?[/quote]

You mean the rear caliper? Loads of bikes run them that way. Keeps it from competing for space with a rear rack.

And SHIT! I thought all the bikes with saddlebags 0.5" above the rear tire looked really stupid… I’ve burned holes in things enough times to know that nothing goes near the tire. I thought I was taking crazy pills seeing all the bags gracing tires all over IG.

This thing costs $65 less than the Erlen or Bagman or whatever, and it doesn’t bounce:

FWIW I’ve got a bagman and I’ve never had any issues with bouncing, at least that I’ve noticed. YMMV ovbs

Yes, but do you have a 65L expandable Wizard Sleeve packed full of organic vegetables and aged wine?

Nah, I’ve got a Carradice Low-saddle Longflap full of work clothes, groceries, and beer. Not quite Bene-level of haulage.

Fav part of this bike, hands down.

No, the rear leg of a truss fork with a floating caliper that uses a spoke to transfer torque to the crown (as quoted).

There’s my problem, I couldn’t / can’t remotely picture what you guys are envisioning. I need a MS Paint diagram.

not sure if Ewen ever made a test fork with this setup

could just roll with rim brakes and forget the fuss
(I’ll go home now.)

wut is rim brake tho?

The supple disc fork is the holy grail of beardy internet bike nerddom. Let a man dream.

Even if you remove the caliper/fork leg interaction, I’m pretty sure the tire and disc forces in different planes will put torque on the hub around a different axis than the axle. A noodly fork would twist under hard braking.

Rim brakes are in the same plane so don’t have this problem.

Ugh butter

I am so glad this thread got hijacked with typical Tarck talk.
