8 speed Chorus FTW!
They’re also the most comfortable brifters I’ve ever felt. My 9-speed Ultegras are killing my hands, so I’m considering making the jump soon.[/quote]
same here. i test road a bunch of different bike with different levers, and the SRAM brifters have been the best feeling.
too bad they never made an 8 speed. or did they and i just haven’t seen it?
Nah, as far as I recall, they jumped right in at ten-speed a few years ago.
SRAM is going to conquer the world next year, when Trek starts selling the full-Red Madone in the Astana colors (the new Lance bike).
I have kinda smallish hands so I have a hard time dealing with Shimano brifters. Shimano reach is too long, the hoods are too clunky, you also can’t ride on the tippity top of the brifter (without feeling like I’m going to accidentally shift) which I love doing on a fast hill climb.
Haven’t had a problem with this yet but from a mechanical side I hear they are a breeze to work with and super simple on the inside. SRAM “gets it” IMO.
