Why is there that specific gap in the frequencies cancelled by anc? Is that gap consistent between brands/models? Does it reflect some sort of physical property or limitation? Is it deliberate?

It’s 2-3 octaves above a typical voice

For the ANC I’ve used, voices usually cut right through.

They might be using harmonics to mess with the digital filters? That stuff is black magic to me.

from what I understand ANC takes the waves coming in and produces inverse waves to cancel the noise

it does low end frequencies well because the waves are long and slow, at the top end of the register the waves become faster and more frequent where both software processing as well as the hardware doing the ANC can’t keep up quite as well

I wonder if this thing will still be useful in another few passes on the tech, i.e. is it a temporary advantage or a durable one?

Regardless, it’s a chonker. I can see it being on a working bike, or on a cargo monstrosity, but I think I’m OK with my Spurcycles.

Yeah this was my impression as well; based on this understanding I’d expect a gradual decrease in performance with increasing frequency rather than a dead spot at 800hz (or whatever the value was) with performance getting better again at higher frequency

i love that someone is even attempting to make that

allow me to recommend a simpler, time tested solution

I’ve put a branch on my bars lengthwise before so that I could get cars at least 3 ft from me on a busy road. Put branch back in nature after sketchy stretch.

Lightweight rear racks never really made sense to me. Even a random Axiom or Blackburn rack doesn’t weigh that much.

I guess it gives him something to offer with his frames.

the Tubus Vega always made sense due to the stiffness and strength of the looped steel tube unibody design

this somehow hits the same weight despite being flatpack with bolts and extra tubes on the sides?

I’d always prefer a lighter/stronger tubular steel rack to some Axiom thing.

I wonder if the chunky Tubus hardware to make the seat stay mounts super adjustable accounts for the similar weight to the Sklar?
