New & Interesting Bike Campenaerts

No question, the brakes still need to be bled.

Planet Bike Cascadia ALX

I have the 50 mm 700c variety and can vouch for the build quality.

Nice fenders no doubt, I have a set of those, but no rolled edges.

I have those fenders in 650b and they suck.
They’re so short that I lengthened the bottom of the front by like four inches and still used a mud flap.
They don’t have rolled edges so any water just sprays out from the sides and soaks my feet instead of being channeled down and away.
They’re also bouncy as hell and the front extends about two inches past the fork crown.
These are the exact fenders that I’m looking to replace.

I’ll have to look at mine, but I’m fairly sure they’re rolled. I had to roll them more to fit them under the fork crown and didn’t want to crack them.

Rolled like this?

No, they’re not.

Front is definitely short. I’m not dealing with the water you are, so a yo dawg flap worked here.

I drilled the rivets and put a vinyl flap on. I kept hanging up while dropping curbs.

Not the same exact fender but I’ve been pretty happy with this flap mounting method. Wish those stay eyebolts on the side had a few more threads for sandwiching.

I fixed this by drilling off the extended plastic section of a pair of Specialized fenders and then attaching them to my ALX fenders. This is only practical if you happen to have access to piles of broken Specialized fenders (as in you work for a shop that sells Specialized fenders), but this mod gives my ALX fenders full coverage. They’re still shit fenders though

Yes. The fact that we’ve both gone to such lengths to marginally improve them sure speaks to their shitness.

Omg y’all.
