Hi all,
I’m Tomity and 52 Y.O. now.
I had introduced “Velodrome in Japan” to everyone with this forum before.
http://tarckbike.com/node/8627
And,… I found the photograph of Keirin in an old age.
I introduce an old photograph to you of forum.
First of all, it is a photograph of Keirin velodrome.
They are photographs of the time of foundation where Keirin race of Japan starts.
Japan after World War II had ended was few of the amusement.
At that time, Keirin race was very popular among the counterplan.
The gambling that bets money on the race and makes a profit is always popular, and now too!!
It was a golden age of Keirin.
From Hakodate in the north of Japan to Kumamoto in the south. Please enjoy it!!

It closes to our regret for the management state deterioration in March, 2010 and it becomes a demolition.
The history ends in it for 60 years.
Good Bye!! “Kagetsuen Keirin”

I love old pictures! Thanks Tomity. I forget if someone already asked this, but why did they stop doing professional women’s keirin racing?

Hi TimArchy san,
The difference of the power(speed, performance) of woman’s rider was greater than that of it of the man.
Because Keirin race was gambling, strong rider always won. Those races became monotonous.
It becomes few dividends for the bet amount of money.
The guest who bet is not interesting. Popularity fell on those races.
That’s reason why.
