I was gonna post about my desire for an alu version of my fop chariot but decided not to bother Braden with that again. Good thing Fred and oooooggggeennnnssss basically did it, haha.
Rim brakes are done
And really, aren’t there like a bunch of single speed “mtbs” like kona unit/new all city? Of course there’s a market for a fat tired single speed. Those adjustable/interchangeable on the new rawland url=http://framebuildersupply.com/collections/rear-dropouts/products/modular-rear-dropouts-horizontal-vertical-and-thru-axle[/url] look really sloppy and cannot be used without an adjustable disc tab - which is kind of dumb.
You know what there is always a market for? Cool bikes. Not RYD cool bikes, but bikes that are cool. How does the AWOL bike sell units? That thing weighs a ton. But it comes in black. And it was marketed well.
wat
if the caliper is on the seatstay where it belongs you can totally cover enough range to be fine
+1 aluminum fop chariot

Look at it
Homeboy didn’t even contact ceeway to get the dropout replacements with the fender mounts on them. It just looks sloppy in a “made in a huge factory” way
And no way an immovable disc tab is going to work with the “track end” dropouts easily
Track ends plus disk is a shit show anyway. If you really want to support SS disc setups go with sliders.
Don’t wanna shit on something someone rad is doing, and I’m not in the market for a bike, but I’m not sure what the appeal here is. If we’re talking fast SSCX bike then it makes sense, but 650B is calling out “ss rando bro”. Discs and canti mounts? Why?
why the fuck would you order standard taiwanese parts from a crotchety greybeard in england to send to your taiwanese manufacturer
nvm rawland would totally do that
650b sweet fixie rando bikes are not a homercar fixation that really needs enabling though
there’s already the Wolverine to be a flytrap for those ideas
woah

Dunno, that’s the only place I’ve seen them before
ok so removable 650b canti x mid reach calipers… Do you envision someone switching between wheel sizes? Or is the intent to allow people to use whatever sized spare wheelset they have laying around?
I like the idea in theory, but I don’t see it moving many units. Super niche as you described it.
A dick frame would accommodate so many more users.
I like cantis (mini v’s, actually), but they are definitely on the track to extinction.
I think it’s to stock one size run of frames for two or more markets
I’ve plotted out similar shenanigans myself, would be especially rad if you could paint-on-demand
You’re going to have a rear brake bridge and drilled fork crown anyway, so if the the ideal fender line and a 700c mid-reach brake coincide in about the same place in space why not double up?
This is why I love you guys.
A pleasure to be both a member and client of Tarckbear Consulting.
This, and I actually rode and raced singlespeeds forever.

Is there a good eccentric bb yet?
If there is it isn’t the Carver or the OG stocker that came on Fisher Rigs.
