My bike needs a 27.0 seatpost, and after looking for a Campagnolo aero post at that size and at a decent price ffor years and striking out on eBay, I finally picked up a 26.8 one and put part of an aluminum can in there as a shim.

For no reason, I just searched for 27.0 Campagnolo aero post, and there is one.

Do I buy, or keep running the shimmed one? It’s completely solid.

It’s an auction and starting at $48, which is great, with buy it now at 68, which is still a good deal to me for this. I’m leaning towards watching it and putting in a bid, and not sweating it if I don’t win. The undersized post isn’t bothering me really, but at the same time it would be nice to have the correct size.

put in a reasonable bid using gixen and forget about it, and if you win it then congrats

D. Kalloy Uno in the correct size.

ok well that does actually sway me a little, but it’s only 0.2mm! the cut up can is only around like 1/4 of the post.

Gotta be Campy matchy matchy though. And the aero post actually replaced the Kalloy Uno I had on there for the last 17 years.

The last thing I have to change out are the cranks & chainring, gonna go 80s record pista. Nothing wrong with the current cranks though. They’re Ofmega which is likely the OEM/original cranks, so I’m not in any kind of a hurry on that.

I have nothing to contribute, except I bought a 27.2 post on ebay that was somehow sanded or intentionally turned down to 27.0 and am now unnecessarily skeptical that used parts are what they appear to be.

you’ll never see one again unless you BIN immediately, sorry.

Agreed, BIN or put in an offer right now. Get the right post, you’ll be glad you did.

I can get behind that. It’s not like I couldn’t sell the 26.8 either, which somehow didn’t dawn on me until this instant. No brainer-trade.

Thanks Tarck hive mind for helping me make my bike decision.
