Portland? Track and Road Season 2013

Are you Mormon?

And I humbly request a name change for Jizzsocks. Rough start but I think he deserves something more digniifed.

Thanks, me too

Keegan, you could try this for a ride:

Here’s a very general list of club rides, many of which are open to anyone http://www.obra.org/teams/rides.html

I forgot to mention that you have to have fenders and a mud flap for group rides otherwise you look like a total asshole. Unless it’s 0% chance of rain and there’s no water on the ground or puddles, you should ride a bike with fenders and it should have an adequate flap to stop spraying the person behind you.

here’s 1%truck’s thoughtful write up on group riding for new guys

Thanks errbody! i know about most group etiquette, but i don’t even think about the fenders.

side comment about fenders: I’ve heard that in some european countries that fenders are required year round on all bicycles, even in races.

race blades or gtfo?

uh, that was the rule maybe 30-40 years ago in britain

which is the reason for the existence of these

Thinking about racing a crit while I’m in arizona on a rental bike. i’m going to be on a roubaix comp with apex 32teeth. good idea/bad idea?

Do it
yolo atmo

Hope you’re prepared to buy that rental bike

imho, i hate riding a bike that isn’t mine… let alone race on it. it never fits right and most of the time gearing is not what im used to.

gtfo with compact/midcompact/32t cassettes that have large changes in gearing

^ this.

That. In other words, don’t rent a Roubaix.

well i could get a madone but it’d be an extra $100 for the week, figure i’ll live with the easy on the knees gearing and save some change

so far in crits i’ve hardly had to shift so i thought it’d be ok, i guess maybe i’ll check the fit first and see how comfortable i am with cornering at speed on it

is it safe to assume that bringing your own bike is out of the question?

Wait, when are you going to be there? I’m going to Arizona Feb 13-18 to a resort my girlfriend picked (Cameltoe something?). I rented the same bike and am planning to do this: http://ridewithgps.com/routes/2055508

Along with two or three 30- to 50-mile rides

Are you Mormon?[/quote]

No, I just felt like censoring the absurd string of profanity that first came to mind for whatever reason. I’d feel bad if impressionable youths read my comments and then became addicted to meth or something like that.

I’ll be there the evening of the 14th through the 17th. Dinner or something?

I would but my girlfriend would kill me I went to dinner with a friend…we’re getting married on Friday and it’s supposed to be our delayed honeymoon. But I can get out during the day if you want to ride, I’ll even buy lunch.

Don’t tell anyone though, our parents think the official wedding is in June in Anguilla.

I’ll be racing Fri-Sun
