I was wondering what happened to IRO_KID.
I went down to New Orleans around New Year '07 to do some cleanup work. In one house we worked on, every room but the bedroom was stacked floor to ceiling, front to back with stuff. These people were serious pack rats and hat 40 years of shit stacked up all over their house, including every day’s newspaper since 196something, still in plastic. Their house hadn’t been opened since the hurricane, so this shit had been in there for almost a year and a half since getting waterlogged, just rotting, festering, and playing host to more rats and cockroaches you can imagine. Shit was hazardous.
It was an old couple and their 35 year-old-or-so son. The son was there helping us out and when we dragged hi mattress out to the lawn, we flipped it over and found a porn mag plastered to the bottom. I couldn’t help but to start laughing my ass off. The guy got really embarrassed. I felt terrible.
Somewhere there’s a cell phone pic of the mountain of garbage we pulled out of those people’s house. I’ll see if I can find it.
As some of you know, I work for a property management company. We have one tenant named Harlan Smith who’s about 80 years old and has lived in the same studio apartment for like forty years. He’s an incredable packrat with floor to ceiling junk like the picture above. He rides his bike which he maintains himself every day in traffic.

The leak was fixed years before I even worked here, but it’s imposable to get in to fix the ceiling and he dosen’t care that there’s a huge hole there, so we’ve left it. I know that some day we’re gonna get a call about a horid stench in his hallway and they’re gonna send me over to check on him and I’m gonna find his decomposing corpse amidst all the junk. I dred that day.
i cleaned my bike area. i think artblur would approve. but i’m tired of taking pictures of my living room and posting them online like some sort of loser. so just take my word.
