Holy fuck Fergie…

Thanks Viggen, I actually have Tarck to thank for helping me decide on a paint scheme. This is the first bike that my painting instructions were specific rather than just saying “green” or “blue”

The top tube is a standard 1" I think. The Spyres actually ended up arriving in time to put on the bike.

I am really looking forward to this bike. Except for the last week, over which I’ve been waiting for my knees to heal, I’ve dramatically ramped up mileage and climbing more than ever before, and I’m having a bunch of comfort issues that I didn’t have to deal with at 200 miles a week. It helps that I’ve been riding with the executive director of the UMCA.

This bike is going to have <1:1 gearing at the low end so I don’t blow out my knees on 25% grades, and a lot of attention has been paid to maximizing comfort over extended rides over and above the fat 650b tires.

The goal is a 600-mile straight shot around the Adirondacks in August. It’s not a 1200k but it includes massive amounts of climbing.

Most people would say things like “this is crazy! Why do you ride your bike so many miles!” And I’m like “totally doable. Just make sure you can get off of work for a couple days”

Yeah supgril and I are moving to Victoria for August, dunno how long the ride to Seattle is

mine and supgrils bikes

first ride on the rsys- a pretty sick wheel. Holds speed like a 1800g carbon/alloy clincher, which is pretty bauce on a wheel this light

she is on the f20 chrono/king wheelset with a set of veloflex

pretty slick

How are the f20 crono wheels? I always figured they were one of those old school tubular rims that don’t build up well for 10/11 speed use because they’re so soft/light.

buddy of mine did 2 seasons of cat 1 cx, i did a year of my fat ass on em

she is like 150 pounds so they aint gonna die

i like it

super responsive wheel

plus she thinks they sound cool

goddamn I love that spooky.

Same. The color is fucking perfect.

what is going on with the spacers on the argon?

(not in a LOL SLAM IT bullshit kind of way, but why drastically different sizes)

the big ones are really headtube spacers

i no rite

[quote=match avatar]the big ones are really headtube spacers

yep

headtube is threaded, and the bearing sits on top. Much stiffer than just stacking spacers. I’m not sure she’ll ever pull them out, but it allowed me to ride a production 58cm bike with a 16cm headtube

First weekend riding the bike in earnest. With those Ultremo tubulars I could handle just about anything put in front of me if I didn’t get ahead of myself. I forgot how nice this bike rides. Dentists unite.

Just put together. hella fun.

Eric, you didn’t waste any time, did ya? Proper.

New bike day. Saddle went up a bit. Ordering a setback post. Waiting on spokes for new wheels.

Ohh, that is nice.
I was wondering what you were building up.
