Post your Dirty Jumper

I kid I kid. If I had a spare 10k laying around (if I sell some CG frames I actually will have a spare 10k laying around) to kick things forward I would already be taking pre-orders from my much appreciated “focus group”.

Its on the radar for sure though. Long term plan is to offer a road, touring, and possibly geared/ss cx bikes in the not too distant future. A friend of mine has already been using Colossi for white label stuff and the experience has been positive. Truthfully, I would feel a little weird just doing what could only be fairly described as an NFE clone though. I mean… bikes are bikes and shit but it would kindof be a dick move right?

County Inlands Surveyor

I’ve done my time in Taichung/Tainan/Xian but I don’t think I have any useful contacts anymore. I still have production drawings and QC sheets and stuff like that if it helps. Plus I can draw frame production drawings. The main piece of advice which has already been said is that you need someone there who can reject it before it ends up in a container.

So if we put Rauce on a slow boat over there right now he’ll have plenty of time to construct a rent free shipping container home/office to base from during his stay there.

I know your joking but Colossi is in Shenzen, close enough to HK where I know enough people I could hang out for a little while rent free.

Also I’m sure a container of frames leaving Shenzen is going to go through HK anyways.

Then ideally someone on the west coast would do the receiving, storage and shipping.

I don’t know, I think by the time you dumbed down the details enough to make it cheap and easy to produce (No monostay, no schmancy seat tube sleeve or headtube rings, less elaborate fork details etc.) the end result would be more like a slightly updated, less foppy dSogn, which came before the NFE anyways.

I think the sizing could be improved a bit anyways, if it was me I wouldn’t do a straight knock off of pretty much any part of it besides the front end geometry and braze-on assortment.

I’m 25 minutes from the port of Oakland and can not do any of those things, if that helps. But I do want a 650b fat tire dick brake all road bike with a well thought out assortment of braze ons.

Can store frames under tarp in backyard. Patch’s mom can handle shipping and logistics

Ok… I’m going to conduct some serious research into this.

I don’t want it turn into a Rawland style cluster so I’m going to take the focus group / nerdy dithering off tarck for now. Anyone interested in a bike or just contributing their 2 cents pm me.

tzusing currently embarking on US tour doing dj sets if somebody wants to whisper sweet bike nothings in his ear

real stoked he’s coming to baltimore, can’t wait. doubt he’ll be giving a fuck about anything but ominous ebm/techno/whatever but who knows

Nah. Make it aluminum. Think Rock Lobster rando. A fork that’d work with a front rack might be kind of JA but you can’t have everything. If I ever actually get an alu version the touring fork might have to be Wound Up, sigh.

Also, fork crown bosses. Surprised NFE is lacking.

Aluminum might be the secret to get magic nerd flex without being reliant on the single smallest, thinnest tube anyone makes. And be visually proportional to headset sizes from this century.

Also, anodized finish, bitches.

fuck you steel has no particular claim to realness

it should definitely be small-diameter aluminum, ball-burnished and anodized

colossi could make you a much better bike that way without having to import fancy thinwall steel

availability of aluminium tubes in “magic nerd felxible” dimension ways is not a problem?
