while this is definitely true, the shorter the duration is on the power curve, the bigger the advantage for mvdp.
if pog didn’t have the juice to drop him on the hills, he was never gonna win in a sprint. i find the whining about being boxed in to be hillarious. if mvdp openned a gap on him while he was on the wheel, there’s not a chance in hell he could ever close a 2 bike-lenght gap and come around him outside of the slipstream.
what i really love is how saying you would’ve won if only the circumstances were different is a universal feature of bike racing across all levels.
