Boy that was some amazing racing. Really setting straight the folks who said the Tour would be boring once Pogo took yellow

I think this is the first time in 20 years that I’m actually interested in a grand tour. I was pretty sure that I found the whole concept boring until this year.

Pidcock putting on an early descending clinic on the Galibier, passing on the outside of a switchback like :hushed:

Awesome ride by Pidcock!

Froome: maybe not back… but not NOT back!

It was good to see the kid go that hard.

I really want to see powless get one. I’m happy any time EF (still Garmin in my head) makes moves.

Also… to beat a dead horse. Quick step absent Cav and Julian is boring af and despite getting a stage have done jack shit.

I had to tell my 82 year old mum what spoilers were today. She keeps FB chatting me about the TDF when I haven’t heard the latest results. I keep meeting old people who start watching it for the scenery and get hooked. Pogatcha this, Pogatcha that. At least she can pronounce his name! He’s Podocarp to me .

Caleb Ewan: bad luck or worst luck?

Wow this is such a great TDF! So many exciting stages.

The GC is even interesting, and the stuff happening on each stage is even interestinger.
I’ve been watching a bit before bed then catching the last hour or so on replay in the morning. Nice little routine.

That was a descending masterclass, if slightly scary at times.

Jumbo having a rough go today, and still 60k to go.

From what I’m seeing, Dr. Manhattan has been winning every day.

I really felt for Thomas yesterday. 10k to go and 14sec, no chance, but I was rooting for him.

Definitely conflicted about that one. Front of the race featuring a French guy getting towed by the camera bike for kilometers isn’t a good look days after fining Alpecin Fenix for the same thing behind the peloton. I don’t blame him or any rider for getting in whatever draft is available, but it felt like a huge double standard in an attempt to get a French win. Even from his perspective, it’s probably not the worst thing in the world we’re not talking about the tainted stage win.

Hooray for a real GC competition in the last week of the tour!

Fave TDF pic so far.

Kid knows what’s up.
Nobody else does.
What’s really up?

Yesterday’s play by Poga was pretty brilliant. Put enough space between himself and everyone but JV that he can probably afford to go for broke today. Still hoping Thomas somehow pulls off something special for some reason.
