I have so many questions Mig!
Why do you have 17 sets of rims?
Did you contact Alex yet? What did they say?
Why did you open 1 rim, discover there was a manufacturing issue then not check the other 16?
When you contacted Alex did they ask why you didn’t check the other 16 rims?
What’s your favorite flavor of ice cream?

The other 16 haven’t showed up yet.
Long story short:ceiling lamps that look like bike wheels. They just need to reasonably look like bike wheels
Ice cream: pretty much anything

That sounds pretty cool project, any reason to not reuse old rims from the coop for eco-friendly street cred?

They need to be new and black. Buying these was cheaper than using old/finding 17 similar and powder coating/paint.

You will be able to see these at a beer restaurant at the Portland airport at a place that rhymes with plop twerks

paging @plop for evidence of twerk

Kitschy bike-themed decor?

Old Portland ain’t completely dead yet, I guess.

It’s just being repackaged to tourists waiting to fly out.

Someone found a way to kill a Brooks cambium saddle top. So I bought it at the resulting fire sale and will need to find a good way to repair or replace this injured saddle.

New Portland and old Portland are the same place with different intentions

You would probably find my booty… disappointing,

There’s a nu ass thread on nu tarck, right?

The tops die a lot. Cambiums are not a great saddle imo. Certainly the old heavy assed leather ones are a much better product. Or you could just get one of the many plastic options that are just as comfortable, half the weight and a quarter the price.

I’ve been lurking on ebay for them, so the price isn’t that bad, but there are approximately 100 million different types of plastic saddles floating around and most of the ones I’ve tried have become hideously uncomfortable on rides longer than about a hour. What saddles have you found that are approximately the same shape & comfort as a C15?

The curvy fizik?

I also tried a bunch of shit that didn’t work, all in a row. It’s all about getting something wide enough imo. The 150ish ergon and the 145ish fabric scoop flat have both been great and in fact better than my old b17 and c17 were for me. As they say, ymmv but i read where someone said often brookses are just the first saddle someone tries that is wide enough and i think there’s some truth there.

Sorry i can’t remember what ergon model i got.sr3? It was like forty dollars on sale from nashbar (from the tarck internet deals thread in fact) and randos perfectly, >24 hours of quietly not getting noticed.

The big thing that switching to plastic accomplished for me is helping me develop better pelvic rotation. This fixed my main ergonomics issue at the time, lower back pain. That’s why i say that plastic is better than leather for me.
