French fit?

58/60 seat tube is already as big as I can go. Building it up with swept back bars.

Anyone got VO crazy bars in their parts bin?

LF: Road frame

  • 130/100 spaced
  • Rim Brake
  • Clear a 28-32mm tire
  • Stack and reach between the following ranges:
    Stack 530-563mm
    Reach 372-380mm

If you have a rolling chassis I’d be open to buying wheels as well.

I have a 56cm Schwinn Tempo with fancy tubes would that work? Not sure it’ll clear a 32 but def clears a 28.

I think thats gonna be a lil too big. I normally max out at ~54cm frames.
ty though.

I’m going to have a frame about that size for sale eventually. Have to get the new one and swap all the parts over. I think the top tube is 54 or maybe a little less. I don’t know stack or reach.

anybody have a oneup 31.6 210 dropper they want to trade for a 180 31.6? worth asking before i buy a new one.

Any of my fellow Midwesterners have any 26” spiky tires laying around? I have a coworker who needs some and am trying to source cheaper than new. Thanks!

Sorry, I don’t.

Here’s one that may belong in the DQ thread as well.
I am using an old aluminum Focus Mares AX frame (2013?) for winter commuting. The stock fork is kind of a disaster and I’m looking to swap it out for something disc-compatible.
The rake is 45 and I’m wondering if I could move that some to make the bike less fidgety.
I believe it’s a tapered head tube with 9/8 on top.
Would love to find an unremarkable 700c wheel to go with.
Is this antique enough to be one man’s trash?
Anyone got anything along these lines?

Explain fidgety steering

You could get a bradenfork and get low trail that presents a unique steering feel

“Normal” cross forks are 47mm rake and it won’t change too much

I’d say look for a 396 ac fork with 51mm rake. Will lower the bb a tiny bit and steepen the hta .5deg

I have a tapered whisky QR disc fork I’m looking to get rid of if u are interested

Thanks!
By fidgety I mean that adding wide flat bars makes it twitchy and a little unpredictable in churn.
I am aware I’m asking for something this frame was never meant to do.

The whisky might be too high zoot for use on the Ice Bastard, but DM incoming.

Wide bars cause everything to do that coz leverage

How does it feel turning out of a fast corner?

Turning at speed is not much of a problem.
It’s wiggling through the churn that could be better.
(I’m probably just spoiled by the handling of my new CG)
