A good one.
All I have come across is gripshift and nonsense.

what kind of bar setup and derailleur?
Anything? Some guys use a downtube or bar end shifter to whatever derailleur, others use brifters/sti/ergo/double tap with the matching derailleur. Mtb trigger shifters would work of course if you’re running flat bars. Even further you could start using a J-tek shiftmate to have even more diverse options.
What kind of set-up are you looking for?

hush
Paul thumbies
Any shifters that will go onto the bars?
Thumbie + barend would be a cool option but pricey.
If you can do a downtube that will be the cheapest, followed by a 9spd trigger shifter.
Why the fuck are thumbies to damn expensive?
It seems insane.
Thanks yalls.
i think i have a 9 speed DT shifter around here somewhere
Downtube shifter if you’ve got the pegs.
Bar end shifter if you’ve got road bars.
Thumbie adapter for bar end/downtube shifter if you want two bar end brake levers on bullhorns.
Trigger shifter if you’ve got risers.
I’ve done my homework about what’s out there for a Shimano 1x9, downtube shifters seem to be cheapest, followed by trigger shifters. Of course, STI is the most expensive option and I don’t think it’s necessarily worth it for just a city bike.
I hope you’re going for an indexed setup.
+1… except “thumby” because you’ll just need one.

I’m guessing that the parts are machined in a fab shop somewhere in the US as opposed to a production line in Taiwan.
paul stuff is so expensive. ill never own any i bet…
