Skinniest tire on a Mavic A119?

I posted this on tardforums and got like one response that was ‘yeah, go for it!’

So I’ll try here: I bought some Mavic A119 rims kinda by mistake, kinda cuz I was like ‘oooh, cheap!’ They’re a touring/29 rim. The sticker on the rim lists it as 622 X 19. And I laced them to some free old high flange SS hubs. Anyway, I want to put some skinny tires on them and the Mavic site recommends tire size 28-47mm. Can I go smaller? Is this stupid? Will my tire flatten out on a wider rim?

I’m ready to just say fuck it and put 28s on, no big deal. But I gotta order tires soon.

28s aren’t that fat.
Just go with those.

edit: That chart is broken. Dont use it.

I’m having fucking problems

edit: quote didn’t work!

not like that dumbass. I meant view it in a quote reply. It didn’t work anyway as the spaces didn’t paste proportionally.

Sorry for calling you a dumbass. You were trying to be helpful. . .

Wow, Thaz a lot of effort. This is actually what the chart says though

fuck that noise, they will work.

25’s will be fine, 23’s might be a bit awkward, 20’s will be tarck as fuck

Fuck you and fuck you and fuck you and fuck you.

One of those charts says 23s, 25s okay. The other starts at 28. That was my problem. I think I’ll just go 28, so it doesn’t look too jackass. Whatevs.

FWIW I really enjoy 28’s on the bike I had them on. It was super chillin.

thanks muffmuff but they only care about pants, veggy food, and girls on bikes around here.

I care about cars. And I even care about girls that aren’t on bikes.

i wouldn’t run anything less than a 25, personally. my friend had so many flats using 25’s on his cyclocross wheels. plus it fucks up the profile - making it more flat instead of rounded. i ride 32’s around on my crosscheck and i love it for the shitty streets.

I <3 my 28’s. Not too small not too big, juuuust right.
