Dang, I need this in 27 x 1 1/4”

Actual lulz.

So close though! Absolutely wonderful

If they had a 28, I’d pick up a few sets, immediately.

I picked up a set of 32s regardless. They’re really good.

Are we doing reviews here? Coz I’m about to write one:

GP5k 32s on HED Belgium Plus. Little bit of a challenge to get on, had to use the bead jack. Seated the bead with 100PSI, both front and rear immediately seated and held air. First one I deflated and added sealant. Second one I left on the truing stand while I had dinner, came back and it was still at pressure with no sealant. Added some Orange Seal to that one as well and reinflated, again to 100PSI and couldn’t find a trace of sealant anywhere.

Set the pressures to something more reasonable to yield a 15% drop. They’re definitely harsher at my body weight than the runny herse barlow pass, but I think I was running the latter at pressures well below 15% drop. They’re also noticeably faster. 'Bout 2mph faster on the same flat, smooth, windless stretch of road cruising at 100w (~17mph vs. 15mph).

Handling is a little different. Obvs. these things will rail a corner, but they’re a little twitchy when riding straight. Maybe a tiny change in trail, which I doubt, or the fact there’s a slight crown in the center where the mold parting line is that’ll wear away pretty quickly.

Never been on a faster tire.

I just made a very similar tire swap (RH Stampede EL tubed to GP5k 32mm TL) with a very similar experience. They were a bear to mount, but easy to seat with a floor pump. Noticeably faster rolling but a tad harsher (although I’m still playing with tire pressure), and super grippy cornering.

I’m equally happy with my non tubless GP5k 32s (ok, as happy as I can be without tire goo).

But I can’t shake a comment someone made…@Dr_Shart_Attack_PhD maybe? That 32s mean you’re always either overbiking or underbiking. lol and probably true.

I swapped my 650x47s for the 700x32s for a 50k last Sunday and it felt like a completely different biek. At the same cadence perceived effort was substantially easier and speed was at least 10% faster.

Felt soooo fast but TC I missed the smoothness of the fat tires as soon as I got back to the city.

Kinda my feel as well.

…but I love railing turns.

How wide do the GP5K 32s measure? I’ve been pretty happy with my Schwalbe Pro One 30s, which measure about 32mm even on a 21mm internal rim. They feel fast to me and are probably as skinny as I care to go these days.

I get 32.5mm on 23mm internal width rims.

Has anyone bought from Runny Arse recently? Is covid affecting their deliveries?

@Jacobell

I don’t remember what thread it was, but it sounds like you need to email them and wait for someone to go to the office who remembers the email password.

I thought I remembered seeing something dodgy somewhere here…

They are definitely taking several extra days to process an order.

Love sharing this thread

yes. took 2 weeks to process and ship, shipped via wrong method and then half of the order was missing.

I can’t imagine how terrible it is to have to do business and continually interact with grown men-children.
