steerer tube cutting question

would it be a bad idea to use a metal chop saw to cut a steel fork steerer tube?

well it’s round stock so it won’t play well.
it takes like 10 minutes to use a hack saw and file it down

If you have to ask… probably not the best idea.

DQ thread?

all the hacksaws in the shop are broken or dull. and round stock works fine in a chop saw if you have a clamp.

i prefer to use a cutting torch and spend two days filing it flat coz thats how my forefathers did it.

i usually just cut steer tubes with a toothbrush

use solwang

Ride faster.

i’ve never really liked using a metal chop saw for anything too precise, but that’s just me.

edit: i guess this isn’t something that’s requires insane precision. whatevs.

Just get a new hacksaw blade. Seriously.

how fast do I need to ride to get rid of this?

you need to ride fast,
to the hardware store

Use your teeth,.Just bite that fucker off.

That’s what I’d do.

Balonya…

The sun travels at an average speed of 900knots (relative to us). If thats the case and you need to lose that nub, I’m guessing you would ave to travel fast enough for your watch (if you’re wearing one) to remain at noon until the nub is gone. It can’t flash tho. If it flashes… u’ll splode.

If ur not wearing a watch… don’t buy one, because in the year 2025 (the year it will be when you’ve realized you tried this whilst not wearing a watch) currency exchange will not be the norm.

Simply ask the roboclerk (the slang is robojerk if u want to fit in) if you can order 1 coconut with a schoolbus inside of it. The goods you receive will suffice for a time measuring device for your task.

hmm sounds lie I would need to go really really fast but not too fast. It might just be easier to just cut it. I think I will wait until I get the fit dialed in before I cut it.

Why would you ever cut it before you got the fit dialed?
