Sugino Super Mighty track, JIS or ISO?

So what is it?

I thought basically Shimano stuff was only JIS and the rest ISO

JIS

Now the real question, anyone know the BB width?

I have used them with 109mm so that should be OK.

shell or spindle?

Spindle

DUH

also, i have super mighty 151 track cranks, and they are iso, as are alot of sugino parts

or you could listen to garth

or you could just look inside the taper and see for yourself

most high end sugino stuff is ISO

I was told that the Shimano 7600 track cranks are also ISO,

NJS is best? y/n

apologies, they are ISO…but, JIS spindle will do fine, it’ll just need to be a few mm longer

square taper anything works with square taper anything. it doesnt seat 100% perfectly though, and usually you just end up damaging the inside of the taper on the cranks a bit when you do something like put an ISO crank on a JIS bb. If you end up taking them on and off a few times, you’ll get play and they’ll never seat perfectly tight to a bb spindle anymore. If you care about those cranks, which you probably should, you will get the correct taper bb spindle to preserve the condition of them.

And if anyone was curious as to what the correct spindle width would be it is the 109.5mm ISO taper Sugino 75 or the MW68 (same spindle different cups). Campagnolo track BBs will work as well. I have a Italian track bastard child with Sugino track cranks and ring, Campagnolo Spindle and Italian treaded Hatta cups which works perfectly together.

I have Sugino Super Mighty Track Cranks, 144BCD, with the cut-outs in the spider.

They are JIS, I use a 107 (or was it a 108?) Shimano BB. The sealed one. I belive it is called a UN54 or something.

Not to be a dick, but as I actually own these cranks, I belive my answer is the correct one.

Well not to be a dick, just because you own these cranks and use them with the wrong BB doesn’t make your answer correct.

P.S. I own some Mightys too. Usually use them with Hatta or Sugino BBs.

Then why is my chainline straight?

According to your responce, if they are ISO that means that my Chainline should be a few millimeters inwards.

I don’t understand your question of how ISO/JIS and chainline are related.
Chainline is an issue of spindle length.
ISO/JIS taper issues are just that. Issues of taper. Not matching the proper taper crank and BB will lead to the damage/deformation of the taper on the crank arm through removal/re-installing.
Just because your set up works chainline wise, doesn’t mean it is correct.

that’s backwards.
