That’s gotta be a bail shot foot half off pedal, i just don’t feel like you made it up that.
Surly sucks! Get a real bike!
Talking shit is fun.
I’m drunk.
Fuck the drunk thread!
Dude has a fist full of rear brake too. It’s still a badass photo though.
Fo sho.
Especially because that’s definitely in the snow.
Surly makes cool bikes. Too bad they’re assholes.
You’re the asshole.

Could be killing it trials style.
Here’s mine. Crappy picture, I know.
Nope. Well, maybe, but that’s not the issue. Surly stopped letting my co-op sell their bikes after a customer told them she bought a Surly from us for $146, when, in fact, that was the price after a trade-in, not the retail price we charged her. When we protested, they told us that because we are a co-op, we don’t need to be selling “nice, shiny, new bikes.” Bullshit. If this was Cinelli telling us this, that would make sense. Surly, however, makes practical, affordable bikes. Perfect for us to sell to people who walk in and want a nice bike to ride to school, around town, on the trails and in life in general. What was actually going on was that they were trying to get rid of their low-volume dealers and jumped at the excuse to do so.
And before you go telling me that Surly is a QBP brand and blah, blah, blah…I fucking know. But there are people at Surly who make decisions independently of QBP. We are still a QBP dealer and can still buy and sell Salsa frames.

The Bike Co-op on campus.
That’s pretty fucking terrible but there is no doubt that they could suspect a co-op of pulling that kind of stuff. Do you track serial numbers sold to people? You could probably give them proof that you had sold it to somebody else beforehand.
We don’t, but we should. We don’t sell a lot of new bikes now that we can’t sell Surly. The issue wasn’t that it was purchased secondhand, though, it was that the customer purchased the bike from us and traded in the bike that she had for credit towards her purchase. Then she had some problem with the bike, so she contacted Surly to get it covered under warranty, and when they asked what she paid for it, she told them $146 (or something obscenely low, well under minimum retail), which was minimum retail minus the trade-in value of her bike. Surly flipped out and cut us off.
I really need to get in touch with QBP and see if they can’t just reinstate us as a dealer. It’s really their decision, anyway, and we’re still on the Surly dealer list.
check your reading comprehension. the coop sold a new surly for a low price, after a customer trade in.
surly employees may make some decisions on their own, but i think there are only like 7 employees, and i doubt they have much freedom to do so. they likely have a lot of pressure from above.
For some reason I thought that the customer had bought it from you originally that traded it in. I don’t know why, I read it just fine just made a link that wasn’t there. Fuck surly for their terrible decals, and fuck them for their amazing frames.
