Were you paid to post this? If so, it worked, lbs is ordering me one when they’re out.

Just happened to run across it while perusing Universal Cycles’ new arrivals.

Why do they always have so many fanny packs? They must stock (and sell?) thousands of them a year.

Aren’t fanny packs what mountain bikers use for carrying stuff? I get the sense that the kneepad set isn’t exactly sold on tidy little handlebar bags.

I happened to be in a ‘burn money’ mood when i saw the post.

They’re currently arguing about wether bottle cages should even be on frames.

They take Rule #31 to the extreme.

Fanny packs are replacement for backpacks. Handlebar bags don’t exist in mtb world. I’m not sure why not. Tendency to fly off the bike during crashes?

I think the hip pack thing with mtbs is related to:
• geo/squish making it difficult to carry even one bottle on the frame on a good day, at least on lots of longer-travel stuff
• tendency of bags on bike to get jostled around and lose stuff
• necessity of moving the bike around a lot underneath ya, lifting up the front end a lot, etc

At least that’s the impression I get as someone who’s owned a squish bike for all of like 2 months

I couldn’t get into the fanny pack for trail riding, much prefer a camelback or water bottle and frame bag

Camelbak is definitely preferable, saved my back more than once. I get too sweaty so I settle for a hip pack if anything at all.
