This is the greatest wrenching screw-up I’ve ever seen. Sure, it could be fake, it’s Reddit, but… let me have this!

We had one of those hanging up at my old shop years ago. Doctor (who was awesome and good friend of the shop) got a flat and put the tire on inside out. It got hung up to forever remind him.

Just imagine: sometime in the not too distant future, an AI model is going to Hoover this up and suggest it to someone

Option 2? My parents bought my BMX race bikes. Learned how to wrench from my dad

Aligning the hot patch with the valve stem prevents this. That trick should be more widely known I guess.

Love his comment:

I only replaced the back. I’m gonna put it right side out and race it in an alleycat tonight (it’s a fixed gear)

9/10/11 era is the good enough era. everything started working pretty well, especially if you’ve never experienced a good and well-maintained drivetrain

I dream of an 11 speed resurgence. In both rim and disco. Wet and dry. Ultegra R8000 was that moment for me when everything felt perfect.

11 is the right number of speeds atmo.

This is a repost and the poster there is lying. I saw this exact photo years ago on Reddit. Maybe ten years ago. It happened but who knows who did it or if it was on purpose (for the laughs) or not.

Is this the Spirit of Gravel? Mr. Rodeo Labs and two others rode Walmart bikes on the 200 mi Unbound route.

“There was no point in our ride where we didn’t wonder if a tire would spontaneously explode or a wheel taco or a pedal fall off,” Fitzgerald said. “All day we remarked to each other how surprised we were to not have called for a pickup. If you asked anyone before the ride if we would succeed my guess is that it would have been 80 percent ‘no way.’ So there is something to be said for a bike that is built for the task.

“But does anyone need a $5,000-10,000 bike? No way. The world would be just fine if we all rode durably-built and well-specced cheap bikes.”

They should have rode the gravel one

I hate it. It’s a corny publicity stunt.

Are they saying their bikes ride about as well as Walmart bikes? Well, I am sold.

I spent some time at a summer camp keeping a fleet of Huffy MTBs going. I’m actually surprised the Rodeo beach cruisers lasted 200 mi.

Maybe the coaster brake drivetrain was the secret? I would expect bent handlebars, at least.
