There are two Hite Rite haters on Tarck now!
After having mine slip and punch me in the pears a few times, I too am a hite rite hater. It’s on my beater as theft protection at this point.
youve already got cables from the brakes so you might as well keep the external, because not having a bar-mounted dropper can be a real pain in the ass.
if you had it coastered with no cables then i would say go for it, or go 27.2 AXS dropper which every coaster brake bike really needs.
damn u rite
I like the overall swoop of the top tube and transition to seat stays. Too many try to make the top tube arc be tangent to the seat stays, but that only looks good dead-on from the side. At any other angle it looks wonky because the seat stays have to flare wider to clear the tire. They did a nice job here.
I like the smaller dia straight bar. I dislike the fork crown area.
I like the mid-fork braze ons. I like that it takes a 31.6 seat post. I like the short-ish chainstays and 26x2.5 clearance.
Do I like it $900? Eh, not for me personally.
How many 90s stumpjumper framesets can you buy for $900?
Maybe 2, the market for 26" SJs is incredibly stupid now
Every bike journalist is doing a Stumpy restomod right now. Between them and the iBob Bridgestones, there’re not many steel frames left.
I regret giving my Schwinn Sierra away. That was one of my best bikes ever.
Just saw this while browsing the 'bay and damn it would look sw8 with all-black parts, maybe with a judicious splash of blue anno bottle cage/headset/post clamp.
I’ve had a love for champagne/gold steel bikes ever since my first real road bike, and old Benotto. (almost exactly like mine, but I had a brooks and matchy blue tires):
Who? Me? You got me twisted if you think I don’t fw the Hite Rite!
Also, are there 26.2mm jump seats???
gawd I’m such a dork but the theme (if I bought that on-one) would be “tubes with end caps” And I’d have to use a stem and bars like this of course. And probably track down some obscure BMX steel cranks with capped arms.

It doesn’t say whether they’re overlanding approved or not.
it’s a shame they don’t have any taf colourways
I wore the old ones for years. The new ones are garbage by comparison FWIW
my first shoes were Miuras but I think my forefoot is too wide for La Sportiva
Scarpa used to have the Mojito that was a less expensive version of the Crux. There might be some old stock out there.
Scarpa has a wider last than La Sportiva. They’ve been my favorite climbing shoe forever.
What about Men's Bozeman Low Leather | Oboz Footwear for a roomier toe box?
