Edit nvm
yeah $1000 gets a lot of wheel.
IMHO baller wheel plus caad10 Ultegra > himod
Interesting, in my research up to this point my findings were basically that hi-mod equals stiffer & lighter, not much different for most riders, but I can see this observation as well. Already ordered the low-mod evo with di2, cuz complete bike was pretty much the same price as I was coming up with for CAAD frameset plus di2 group & si hollowgrams. So, it wasn’t ruling out nice wheels for me, at least. Rode a low-mod to test, and the feel was close enough to my Felt that I was cool with it. Wanted something a bit more forgiving than the CAAD10.
We’ll see once I get it, I suppose. I’m not a sprinter, and I’m light, so differences like you stated tend to be less obvious to me.
Anyway, didn’t mean to derail;
For Jordan’s application it really does seem like a CAAD10 or Hi-Mod would be the choice. Force is nice enough for any race bike. My ideal winter trainer would be my exact road bike with 28mm tires and fenders. It’s very nice to be able to train on the same position, gearing, and set up as your race bike.
can she test ride at dougieshop? some of those carbon Scotts are not bad.
I’ve heard those Evo himods are stiff as fuck. but crazy fast.
have you tried 11s Shimano shape?
if it were me I’d go:
[]5800 on race bike and some baller wheels. unless you can get a last year’s 6800 bike cheap
[]R685 on gravel bike with DT350s to i19 or KOM and gravel kings
material is less important. particularly with bigger tires.
wat

baller wheel himod > *
Wouldn’t fuck around with any kind of lowmod frame.

wat u dnot
Buy hi mod UDi2 to solve shimano shakes issue
Buy baller tubies
Save funds for maintenance and work on mechanical empathy
Ride it until it breaks
good wheels > carbon frame. I vote CAAD 10 and balleur spinny things.
she got tiny hands yall. shimanos dont work.
shit, srams barely do.

but bro hydro shakes from shimano are teh jaaaaaaaaammmzz
fuck logic, internet said otherwise
di2 shakes are all plastic anyway, just grind 'em down until they fit.
ITT Tarck completely ignores opportunities for tiny hands jokes.
i think we all probably thought it, but decided against it.
Twin Six steel rando with discs and fender/rack mounts and room for 700x43c tires? $600 frame only, $630 paint matched fenders
Edit: Forgot I pulled that “Final Word” line out for a second go round. And jumped back in for a second time.
Shimano levers with the adjustable reach stuff are too big (I mean I barely know anything about Shimano, maybe they all do that now)?
