It’s really just a mind battle. First bite’s the hard one, then power through.
eating an apple while backpacking is amazing. And ANY cold sugar drink while riding is a divine thing
About a month ago, I was on a ride that ended up being a little longer than my water could support. Because of COVID, all the usual places were closed up. I still had about 10 mi to go before I could get home, but I grabbed an apple off a tree as I was riding by. That was the best apple I had ever tasted, and it gave me enough hydration for the rest of my ride.
Dude, a chilled apple. Amazing.
Yesh i started keeping my apples in the fridge this summer. So refreshing
My small group of Brevet Buddies always joke about RandoYelp.
“OMG best mcdonalds ever. Fries were perfect, coke was ice cold. A+ would eat again.”
"This gas station has the most amazing snickers bars! "
Can I introduce you to frozen grapes?
I have running routes that are built around neighborhood apple/pear trees.
I’m a big fan of fruit. I wouldn’t have lasted long in the Garden of Eden
Chilled cotton candy grapes
O yeah I have eaten those while on the drugs
anyone done carbonated fruit? allegedly a little $5 of crack sized chunk of dried ice in a nalgene in the fridge will do it without exploding it
Or you might explode your fridge. I work a job where we often had big pieces of dry ice. I kept myself amused by smashing up small pieces, sealing them in a film canister, and leaving them upside down on coworker’s desks. A few minutes later the canister makes a loud pop and shoots a few feet in the air. I’d imagine you could get a big bang if you put enough dry ice in a nalgene and sealed it tight.
I used to do a similar thing with hydrogen in deli cups. If you get the mixture just right you can hit the warehouse ceiling.
I’m going to put some in the freezer now.
do you know how small $5 of crack is?
No, I hate imperial measurements. I have no idea how much dry ice it would take to blow up a nalgene, but it could be a bummer if your crack to grams calculations are off.
Dry ice bombs are a laboratory classic!
A pea sized piece in a 1.5 ml eppendorf tube makes a surprisingly loud bang.
Wrap with parafilm for extra pressure buildup.
I’m told.
I remember being in middle school and making a big 2L dry ice bomb that I threw in the street just as my mean vice principal happened to drive by. Hope it scared him cuz it sure scared me.
