Tastes fine in some bbq sauce, but it has approx 0 nutritional content so in that regard its a terrible meat substitute.

Well, soy curls are fine if you’ve got nothing else, but given the choice between soy curls bbq or pulled pork there’s no contest, and it ain’t soy curls. I’m vegan 80% of the time but the other 20%…

Oh i wouldn’t sub them for pork. They’re more of a chicken sub and you gotta really flavor them up when rehydrating.
This is my thing with jackfruit. It’s a sauce carrier that’s kinda stringy, that’s all it’s got going for it. Like you could get 95% of the same thing with shredded paper napkin
I’ve had it utilized well in vegan tacos. I mean… I’d rather have any other kind of tacos over vegan tacos. But it’s like pizza… you have to do a really terrible job for it to be worthless.
Hard disagree. Like if you think napkin had the same texture as jackfruit, i don’t know what kind of napkins you’re using.
Or what kind of jackfruit! I’m not saying jackfruit is actively bad, just that it lives or dies by the material it carries to your mouth.
