Weird… I thought you were already on here when you started following Outpost on insta. “James, follow that person back, I think they are on tarck”.

Ha-- naw I just got good taste & have been an Endpoint/Outpost fan for awhile. One day I’ll make it up for one of y’all’s rides they look tantalizing.
Got onto some SSFG message board, and it was okay. Everyone was pretty dry. Not a lot of personality. The ethos of the place was not resonating with me.
One day I read a thread about Tarck and some folks being banned or something. A quick search brought me here
Dang. I feel like it’s been a minute since anyone migrated here from BF.
i missed that boat. came here for confirmation that omniums were the stiffest track crank ever invented and for some godforsaken reason i never left

Finally got around to uploading photos from the NAHBS century - some internet friends were in town and we rode from Concord to Sacramento for the bike show. Internet friends were riding fixies; I felt a little overdressed with my 2x11 wet dick bike: [IMG_0491] Our fourth rider, going for the shift on his 3-speed: [76260003] It’s this gloriously weird fake-campy-suicide-shifter for a Nexus 3-speed hub. He built the bike mostly(?) as a joke but it’s actually a surprisingly good bike. He’s deb…
That was such a fun day soon enough I’ll get back out y’all’s way & go to Foster’s Bighorn again. That place was wild.
Good read. The 2nd one even gets raced at a velodrome.
You race at Dick Lane?
I miss that place and its boneshaking turn 4.
Yep. Going from one into two has a lil kick these days too.
DIY 3rd bottle cage (anti giardia tech).
I use a disposable shower cap and a rubber band.

That is so cool.

Huh, I think I met new guy at NAHBS that year?
I vaguely remember a sw8 fixy rider from ATL. Maybe from spectating the squid tracklocross thing.

Jon?

Wow. I recall snapping some structural portion of my saddle on turn 4 and being spooked out of racing the rest of the night once.
That thing is just going to drift downstream to the gulf of Mexico gradually–the only question is at what post-apocalyptic point will we stop racing on it?
Mahalo!
Ya was likely me and Jon (a bestie) though:
[I am no man]
He had the Nag I had a Serotta.
at what post-apocalyptic point will we stop racing on it?
one fucking day I hope. We deserve a velodrome without elevation gain.

I met twotoneATL/AMS Jon at … NAHBS Denver 2013. Seems a lifetime ago
Yeah it was definitely you two!
I’m a big awkward canadian and I was on my own. I rode a JUMP bike share bike to that thing heavily laden with beer.
Be careful what you wish for.
There was a possibly true legend about the planks from the 1996 olympic track rotting away in some Canadian field. Enjoy what crappy bumpy creek bisected wealth as you have!!

Hate to break it to you, but every velodrome has elevation gain.
