Mike_Truk, world’s worst serotta salesman.
nah, I think that title is still and eternally held by the venture capital guys who bought the brand and somehow ran it worse than it was already being run. Lion Captial or something?
There’s a place near rei called bj’s. It’s my favorite Applebee’s. I went there once but probably will never be back.
the only thing I really remember about BJs was a classmate really wanting a pizookie and when she drove a few of us there she got out of the car and powerwalked into the restaurant without turning off her car, leaving us to finish parking.
The pizza cookie was mediocre, not worth a used Scion
Is that a cookie with pizza toppings? A pizza topped with little cookies? A chocolate chip pizza? None of these sound appealing to me.
It was an overcooked cookie baked in a tiny deep dish pizza pan with a scoop of sad breyers style vanilla ice cream
Fresh Meat!
I’m still building up my DayRuiner that I picked up from JimmytheFly. For your roasting pleasure, I present this abysmal excuse for a noodle.
i really don’t like anything about it
the least bad thing is the pedals, it’s possible you could have chosen a worse pedal
the most bad thing is the handlebar tape! do you have hulk hands??
Did you decide to incorporate one bad bike component from each of the last six decades?
Also Davidson: if you’re from the PNW dear god please no we have too many already
Clearly an ill advised attempt to distract you from the threaded to threadless conversion
very few bikes beg for a VO quill stem and non-Thomson post more than that one
DAAANG new guy with the fire.
Yes, even managed to source NOS Suntour brakes and a power hangar to revel in the antiquated canti post spacing.
want to talk us through your design thinking?
Gladly,
Each brand and component has its strengths and weaknesses. Through the diversity of my selections, i reap the benefits of all of their weaknesses so that their collective failure outweighs any accidental oversights that threaten to improve the overall function of the bike.
For aesthetics I tried to find that balance of “too matchy” and “incoherent” so as to immediately irritate the viewer. My biggest failure was in the lack of garish colors. For that hope to be further inspired by the wisdom and experience of “you people”.
So is this something you’re riding on rough roads, hence all the bar tape? I’m genuinely curious about this thing, it kind of looks like it’s splitting the difference between cx and randonnuering. Were you going for a single bike for all your cycling needs?
Yea I’m confused about the process here, as it feels like you would/could have achieved better results with a random parts-bin build?
Yeah, it was my stab at an all-road/commuter/rain bike. Some of that bar tape appearance is from routing the bar end housing along the bars, the rest was just an unfortunate accident. I too found it unsightly but have yet to be inspired enough to re-wrap it. It has sport touring geometry and can run 32mm without fenders. It’s pretty light and is a super fun bike i just wish it had better clearance for fenders.
I have a Serotta Legend for go-fast roady and am building up a H/G for front loaded fatter tire adventures.
Shifts and brakes great and parts were sourced cheaply on CL.
to tell you the truth I really only dislike the adaptor, post, and saddle. And the cranks. They also make compact drops in 26.0 so you could run an old stem that would look cool instead of incredibly ugly.
