That bottle cage is worth 20 alone. score!
That was the first thought I had when I saw the bike in person.
I can’t decide whether to keep it as a drop bar road bike, either fixed or multi geared, of if I should go the Nitto Albatross route.
That is exactly what I plan to do with the build I’m thinking about. Though, Arc bars also seem very appealing. Either way, visually that pic represents what I would like to achieve. Also with full fenders, similar bars, add a basket, throw on a brooks, and I’m still deciding if I want to build it geared or as a SS.
You guys think if we all sent emails to VO they would start making some Priest replicas?
I could ask my friend that works there about the possibility. I think he’ll be in Oakland, soon.
Well what’d’ya know? Look what I just bought off of Craigslist for $35.
when i bought my trek 720 the bars were wrapped the same shitty way
35 bucks score
Seeing bc’s new old trek reminded me that my mom has an old cromo trek she hasn’t used in decades… NEW WIFE BIKE TIME!!!
$225? y/n?
I need a 61 ideally. dude says ‘24"’… looks like maybe 58 or (if I squint hard enough I can pretend it’s a) 60? is not very close to me.
edit: I think I answered my own question.
Here is my 510 conversion. I previously posted in the show your bike thread. The bars are on another bike right now though. It is getting porteur bars and hopefully a front rack.
^ So good.
I think VO would make a killing if they started producing those bars.
How about these, not quite priest bars
like it
Me too.
It can be your for a paltry four hundred dollars!

^I initially thought the cl listing was for that very bike with those wheels, bars, etc. and was like, “Shit, that ain’t bad…” then I clicked ans saw the truth. Still not bad to the right person, but not exactly a steal.
TAF
i thought the same damn thing. besides, if i had the monies for a vintage trek, it’d go toward this guy, provided that it were ~ 58-59 cm (as it seems to be from the description).
vintage 1985 Trek 510 road bike - $350 (libertyville)
or this guy
TREK 460 vintage beauty ROAD BIKE - $250 (naperville)
still more than i really wanna pay for an old trek, but i don’t have bonechilling’s luck as far as good finds go
has anybody seen this? Anybody know anybody who’s ridden it? I wanna know how that rubber chain shits going to hold up. I talked to the guy in the shop about it today and he said he had no info on it besides the fact that its super quite. haha
that’s a shame
they have a geared bike like that as well. they think it might be a hit haha.
anyways you can’t just put a new (chain) on because its solid, so they redesigned the dropouts. seems like a lot of trouble
seems like it would make for a weak point at the dropout
May have been true a few years ago, not true anymore.
definitely more shit that could go wrong. its lighter though. Is chainring and cog are both carbon fiber composite? looked like plastic in the bike shop 0.o
Trek website “The belt drive is a carbon fiber composite belt reinforced to prevent stretch. The worry-free, lube-rejecting, lighter-than-any-chain-you’ve-ever-owned belt also produces a ninja-like quiet ride.”
