I generally do not ride Sat morning, but I rode up with a buddy into the San Gabriel Mountains. Came across 2 riders and one runner up in Santa Anita Canyon.
When we came back down, there were several full on large groups riding through streets blocking traffic at full tilt. I mean its cool that they are out there, I have nothing against that. It was just weird to see so many, maybe 100 riders going through the foothills. 10 years ago, that was not the case. I think I want a Kelme jersey for spite.
Are there a lot of weekend warriors where you live?
All the more reason to wake up early… some of my favorite rides involved getting up at 7am, hungover as shit, making oatmeal and coffee and then meeting up with a group to put in some miles.
i forgot my shoes this morning when i was at my gf’s house and therefore this morning i was not weekend warrioring. i am bmx-warrioring it later, though.
In NorCal the weekend warriors are out 7 days a week. I see folks in kit every day of the week here. I also pretty much ride every day of the week. It’s hard to get a long ride in on the weekends as that’s usually when everyone else wants to ride with me. For most other folks I know a 20-30 mile ride is a long ride.
There are groups like this around boise on most week nights and weekends… Its awesome to see.
When I first started riding road there was one weekend ride and small groups the rest of the time (3-4 riders).
I hope to see the trend continue.
Yeah, you see groups riding all the time, but thins way out when you head out to do rides that are not Bogus or the dump loop.
Also, stop skipping the Wednesday Nighter, girly man.
Newsflash: weekend warriors seen riding on the weekends
There was a century ride organized in my area today. There was a metric shit ton of people out riding. I found a group of 20 or so going my way and got some free draft. Life was good.
Like Rusty I ride everyday but only “ride” on the weekends.
