Even from the very beginning, it’s been a frustration. I bought the frame when the Coffeegrinder frames were delayed. between that, the 7 forks, and all other little in-between problems, I kind of just want to buy something complete that is all supposed to work together
Holy crap, no idea it was that many.
that is such a bummer.
It’s time to admit that my Voodoo is too small for me. What’s it worth?
MUSA Wanga frame with parts bin used wheels, the 3x10 take-off slx/deore drivetrain from my El Mariachi and mullet brakes.
Breezer Radar Pro frameset with stock headset, VO setback post and stock clamp/collar. Size medium. Some minor nicks but no dents, etc.
853 Salsa La Raza, 6500 group with centaur carbon 53/39, full carbon ouzo pro plus original salsa fork, archetypes to M570 deore hubs, Thomson chairpole and stem, will get a SLR gel flow and parts bin bars maybe Zipp service course
also separately a 6800 mini group pusher/dangler/shakes/11-32
This thread’s been dead for two months, and I post in it and immediately two more ‘what’s it worth’ posts burying mine? wth I’ll never find out what it’s worth.
if any of us had any idea what bikes were worth, we’d just be successfully selling bikes during the covid used bike boom
i sold my wiefs 10 year old crosscheck for $725 with original chainrings still
All three of ya ask for 500 and accept 400.
Make it 600 and 500 if you’re in a big city with LBS’ that are out of bikes.
If you get it ready to ride I’d say 6-700, but you’ve gotta up sell the “ferro verum est” aspect of it.
If I were you I’d also swap the nice zip/Thompson bits for decent generics and flip them on eBay separately. To maximize return obviously since they don’t add much value to the complete. But that’s just if you want an extra 50-60.
E—Thomson chairpoles used go for 60-70 on eBay easily FYI
Also if you swap out the H+s for old Mavics you could get another 100 selling them separately? CXP22/33s are cheap yet respected enough while H+ could be premium
I might have an old cool salsa decal somewhere
yeah this makes sense, I don’t think I have extras in the bin though. might have a chairpole maybe, def no wheels. what about fork? swap the stock one back on or sell it as-is?
600 as a commuter. 700 if you put a rear rack on
Yes definitely. OG fork has no use for you once you sell the frame right? Ouzo pro can be 80-100 on eBay. Dither away
The thing about completes is that people have preconceived notions as to price levels for types of bikeS rather than actual build and parts. So a steel road bike with modern group set is a certain level, other parts won’t really get factored in. Maybe because people are so accustomed to OEM wheels and cockpit parts
Thing with the Thompson and H+ bits is that both companies still literally sell the same parts as new. So your parts aren’t as “aged” as the rest of the bike no matter how old they are
yeah the bike is the bike is the bike in this case. but a seatpost alone is a seatpost, etc
I’m thinking $250-275. Does that seem fair?
More than fair. I wish it was my size!
Thanks. I had it set up with Jones Loop bars and a short (60mm) stem. It looked a bit odd, but actually rode better than my old Salsa Vaya with a similar setup.
I sold a pretty beat 2011 redline conquest pro, a cantilever aluminum frame with rear rack mounts, bb30, and carbon/alu fork for $250. You can probably do better. Just up sell the gravel/touring/bike packing and the steel is real aspect of it, specifically mentioning the large tires and brazeons, assuming no rust. Remember that cross checks have sold for more
