Heck yeah, thanks for sharing.
Last night I noticed a pretty big tear in Resist Nomads that have been on the Trek 720 commuter for a loooong time.
I was also noticing the Mavic A719 rims are starting to get really concave… so…
Tempted to replace the wheelset with some DT Swiss R460 rims and some lighter spokes + S-One 700x30 and go tubeless.
This is supposed to be my beater bike I can leave outside for extended periods but I can’t resist the draw of tubeless now.
you want the wheels I built for my now-dead Kogswell?
DT350 11s / SP PV-8 / WTB ChrisCross / DT SuperComps
(and yeah if I was building them today, DT R460 or somehow hustling some ceramic Boyd Altamont rims would be my choice)
Possibly!
Are the S ones in 30 mm bigger than GP4k in a 28?

What do these measure to IRL?
a local rando / dk200 / cx organizer dude was saying these are pretty good and $40 MSRP?

^ yeah those tires rule
Lots of people I know use those and say that they’re great. They poured a lot of money into tires and got some really great results, and the truth is that Specialized’s tires are basically the best in their all respective categories, at the moment. Best of all - they retail at your local bike shop for what Contis cost shipped from Europe.
If you can look past “2Bliss™”
30ish
schwalbe is good at labeling tires
n’thing the praise for those roubaixs, they measure ~33mm on DT R460 rims.
The roubaixs are great. 28mm GP4ks measure 31mm, the Schwalbes measure about 30 on my i18 rimz.
They measure 31 on my tb14s.
Interesting write-up about Maxxis tires we will never be able to buy. Also, a bit about Nino Schuter switching out his FMBs for tubeless tires and breaking Jan’s heart (attn: Fred).
that’s cool. also nino was on dugasts before, not fmb:
i love the way the tubulars look on a modern mtb
