Track Standing or Skids?

It is now!!!

where is the option for only when im drunk? i like that option.

I gave you two comedy options instead of one, don’t complain :colbert:

I can do both but I have to get pretty far forward to hold to skid for more then a second. Which means I don’t skid at higher cadences, which means I use my brake a lot.

goddamnit trackstanding is hard

Maybe if you have an inner ear problem, are drunk, or just came off of a wicked sprint/uphill. The rest of the time its cake.

Trackstanding is mostly difficult on really uneven and chewed up pavement.

i skid into trackstands :colbert:

everyone should be able to. not as the main way of approaching a light, but just as a skill to have, and to be confident in your ability to control your bike.

i don’t really see the problem here. maybe i have good balance, but trackstanding came really easily. just turn your wheel, lead with the “inner” foot, and rock back and forth with the angle the bike wants to turn, with the wheel turned. then get out of your seat, put your balls/vag up to the stem, and lock your trailing leg while pulling your leading foot up. fall over if you must, but keep doing it. skip stopping is a really effective way of scrubbing of speed. once you can pull off massive style skids, locking your legs while still in the saddle will be easy, unless you are running 90 gear inches or something.

i don’t even trackstand anymore. i just put my foot down and relax.
the best skill. being able to push off, one foot in the clip, then slip your other foot in the clip before that pedal reaches the top of the first stroke…away you go.

this is has been a really nice thing to know how to do in high traffic situations. the first time was absolutely an accident, but from then on i’ve used it alot.

^^^For sure!!!
I was so surprised and satasfied with myself the first time I did that!

i was tarckstanding for a second at a light then i fell over
at school
in front of cars

it was fucking embarrassing

hmmm, I could skid right away. Being able to legitametely trackstand took me a while.

Today I was trackstanding at a light and a dude walking by in the crosswalk looked at me and said, “Now THAT’S balance!”

i was riding clipped in for the first time, without practicing getting in and out of them before going out, mind you. skidding and hopping around is pretty fun with clipless pedals but i slowed up and tried to trackstand and while nearly motionless, i lost my balance, couldnt get out fast enough, and tipped over. three times. scratched up my frame a bunch.

i feel like ive told this story before.

an older woman was crossing the street in front of me trackstanding the other day, and she made a comment like that. something along the lines of, “well that’s impressive!”

I had a bunch of burly motorcycle guys wearing their leathers straight up cheer when they saw me tarckstand on my tallbike. I’m talking like they might as well have built a human pyramid and carried pom poms. I just busted out laughing and rode away.

I LEARNED THEM TODAY!!!

FUCK YEA!!!

I THANK EVERYONE AT TARCKBIKE FOR YOUR SUPPORT!!!

get some skillz nub
