How about a custom length of bamboo for a headset spacer?
Calfee Design Custom Bamboo Headset Spacer $29.00
Such a great build! Excited to see what adventures await.
She does! @capn_FANCYpants let me know what the length is and I can make you a one piece spacer
can you pantograph / cnc / laser etch clowns and ice cream on it?
I don’t really have the time to do that. I will send it to someone if they can do it.
So much bonus for RVIVR shirt
I have so much appreciation for all of you that helped make this wackadoodle dream a reality. The bike is 90% of the way built! There was a mixup with one part, which Shimano overnighted to me and I just delivered to the shop.
Trying to figure out the best way to repay the shop for this. I brought them popsicles yesterday, and of course I’m gonna tip and send all my friends there, but there needs to be like a bike shop of the year award. Seriously, Free Range Cycles is the BEST shop I’ve worked with. If you have any friends in Seattle who are needing a bike or bike work, send them there!!!
This is pretty much the consensus review I’ve seen.
Google reviews? Facebutt page reviews, send your friends, give 'em paid work.
HY marley! so stoked to see this materialize for you!
love the burts
a classic tarck build
Yay Marley! (Woo RVIVR!)
What’s the first adventure going to be?
Shakedown ride this weekend somewhere gravelly, and then filming next weekend with on the Corvallis to Coast. Bad idea or the worst idea?
Great idea! My shakedowns are usually just around the block at 2am, for an 8am departure.
Woah c2ctrail! When I was in Seattle, we toured the Pacific coast in chunks as vacation time allowed. One summer we stayed with friends in Newport before heading inland to Corvallis to rent a car back to Seattle. Our friends insisted on driving us over the Coast range to Corvallis, and once we saw the narrow road and heavy traffic we understood why. It’s fantastic that there’s now a bike route. I think biking US-20 would qualify as “worst idea.” The new trail sounds like a lot more fun, especially on that bike.
Except that it’s 7000 feet of climbing! My whole vision for this film was to show that anybody can bikepack (even fat mid-30s women) and that its not some crazy epic sport, but I got outvoted.
Whaaa? I remember discussion of a trail when I was at OSU, awesome to see it’s a real thing now. Highway 20 was miserable, is still miserable, but is now rerouted on a newly constructed stretch with wider shoulder. We usually stuck to Hwy 34 down to Alsea and out to Waldport.
Eager to see how it works out for y’all!
That kind of blows. Most of the videos out there make everything look all epic. The ones that show normal people doing achievable things are more interesting atmo.
You know me. Even if I try and make it look normal, it’s going to end up goofy in some way.
This bike rides like a dream. Took it on a little gravel shakedown ride today and it just floats over everything. The gearing let’s me climb whatever I want. This is gonna be fun!!!
No danglebong?
