That’s fine. Ride it out.
Someone needs to photoshop a taco into that.
Teh sticker should hold it together, right?
This ain’t ever happened to me. Taking donations for a new rim.
haha was that pinned?
At least the rim was named appropriately.
another casualty of the fgfs hard hittaz amirite?
FGF is a track racing site, isnt it?
FGFS = Fixed Gear Freestyle
FGF = Fixed Gear Fever (track racing website)
fixedgearfever.com is track racing. fgfs is fixed gear freestyle. duh.

jinx!
That shouldn’t be possible if the rim is under the correct amount of tension. That doesn’t look like a rim defect to me.
Unless there was some type of damage 180 degrees from that spot.
There’s any number of ways that could happen. I am suggesting that photograph doesn’t necessarily indicate a defect.
Wouldn’t be the first velocity rim with that exact problem. Even from the factory it happens(though a hairline separation will usually pull together when the wheel gets built up). It’s kind of annoying that anytime something happens to a bike part (especially rims lately)it’s picture is instantly on the web “with oh these must suck.” If I was a rim maker right now I’d be letting it known that if you send me the pic I’ll replace it and give you an extra if you send me the picture and sample for the replacement rather than letting the internet experts be the judge of whether my product is safe.
The good thing about velocity usa, is that they are SUPER QUICK, to respond to any problems. In my experience when a defect slips through from velocity to me it’s because they have been pumping out that particular rim or color in large batches which don’t get inspected as thoroughly. I bet they have that chucker machine running hot down in australia. Also you will never see a better seam than on a non popular velocity rim, Aero’s and Escapes beautiful.
Winner so far.
That rim most likely ok to ride. I did a rim joint test on the velocity b43 and it held up to beyond the standard.
but can you bomb stairs with it?
(i see you testing on the competition)
