Sawed off the old crankset, took out the asploded bottom bracket, and replaced the whole shebang with an ox801d/biopace 48/multicolor fixie chain. I need to pull the thing apart again and put a spacer under the DS cup because right now the crankarm is rubbing against the chainstay if I put any sort of oompf into my pedal, but it’s not making horrible rattling noises any more and a narrower tread + slightly larger ring makes it much easier to row the thing down the street at a reasonable speed.
