They seem at least OK, haven’t really burned them in yet. Stock pads seem meh. Installation is easy, dial in the knob to clamp the disc, tighten the bolts, back it off to get the lever throw you want.
BUT
They are +20 brakes, which means they are only 160mm when mounted on the fork with the their special adaptor that’s threadlocked on the front caliper, and the back has to be 140 mount spacing.
Also has problems with the Aethos forks. Basically the frame has to stick to the original 140/160 mount patterns, or you have to run a bigger rotor than you probably intend to.
Got my short cage 6870 dangler shifting an 11-32 cassette, and the pusher setup to handle a 48-31 GRX crank. Limit screws maxed out everywhere, but it all seems to function fine.
After sitting unloved and unridden for more than a year, the Katu was dropped off at the non-profit so it can be out there living its best life with someone else and I’m okay with that.
Ugh. You have no idea how much trying to find a consistent source of prepared food has tortured me. VA code regarding this this idiotic.
We ride to the spot where the guys in the food truck make sandwiches in front of the commissary kitchen they work with that the health department says they can’t wholesale to us.
Brought a gx axs upgrade kit home from work because I’m mindlessly upgrading whatever I can as a substitute for not being able to start any new projects due to shortages. Remembered I put an 11sp drivetrain on that bike because no 12sp stuff was available. Placed palm on face.
I put the boingy parts back into the big full squish bike.
The work order said the rear shock was worn on the damper shaft. When putting it back in the frame, I noticed the upper and lower eyelets aren’t exactly square with each other. Looks like I gotta take it back to the shop and have them take a look for warranty’s sake.
I pulled it out of the box today and started to inventory the build kit. I will mock it up tomorrow. I don’t remember the woman being super short, so she must be flexible AF and have an extremely aggressive position.
I had the shop give me a second opinion. The upper shock mount isn’t square. They’re going to send it up the chain to Rocky Mountain to see what they say.
