seriously, all of my riding is solo and it seems like if I wanna average faster speeds my effort is better spent getting lower/smaller on the bike.
Swapped out a romin evo for a different romin evo on the old ruiner to address a very concerning creaking sound coming from the bike. Seems to have mostly worked, but I also messed with the rack seat post clamp I added to help keep the seatpost from slipping and thatās probably where the noise is coming from. No cracks around that area in the frame that I could see. Also swapped the 38T ring for a 34T ring for slightly easier efforts in the lowest gear.
Any pics of new HG yet @Bootus ? Custom color right?
New gatherer is still in the box because my interest for derp bar bikes is basically zero right now.
Itās kinda custom, in that itās the coyote tan from the Coffee grinder color palette.
You would have to be exceedingly skilled to not die on a high racer on gravel
Put the large racing basket on the Polyvalent. Started installing SKS fenders on the old ruiner in prep of incoming weather next week and dammit thereās always that one length of bolt I donāt have and need to buy.
think Iāve tried/failed mounting challenge SBs three separate times
What happened?
spent way too much time getting even one bead stretched over the rim, pinched the tube trying to get the other bead over, and then thought do I really want to try fixing a puncture on the road, said screw it and stuck with a different, inferior tire.
I just donāt have the magic
edit: I misremembered, it was the paris-roubaix not the strada bianca
lmao this is the only picture i have of the rider who showed up to our 2018 solstice campout on a recumbent. he seemed to be having a pretty good time.
Itās finally the rainy season again. I moved the fenders from the kerT that never gets ridden to the Pooprad. The SKS hardware is so much more robust than PB or PDW. I also put the fenders back on the Hatchet. I still need to find a wider front flap, or maybe dig out the one I cut from some ski base material.
I install SKS fenders because Iām bad and deserved to be punished. So fiddly omg why do I never remember this. At least thatās done now and the bike is ready for winter commutes. And hey, now itās had three different brands of fenders in three different materials (PB alum, VO stainless, SKS plastic). Looking forward to my next round of dithering on the old ruiner where the only logical choice of fenders will be ti or carbon.
Continuing bike maintenance weekend, I swapped cronks on the MTBs so they are matchy matchy again.
The Shimano ring I was running on the Orbea needed the SLX cranks from the Instinct with the 55 mm chainline to clear the chainstay. I was running mismatched for the XT Stages. The new Blackspire ring I bought now clears the chainstay with the 52 mm XT cranks. I have about 5 mm of clearance between the Stages blob and the chainstay, too.
<3 sks fenders
+1 SKS fenders have been super ez for me over the years both for personal and shop use.
Fixed the knarp on the dropper post of the demo Kenevo SL that failed when I got to spot to ride. So rode it slightly lowered the whole time, figuring 12 miles with motor wonāt break my knees.
Gonna try to lower some pressure in shock and fork and give it a full go tomorrow on some more enduro-y trails.
or bamboo!
Installed PDW fenders on my Rove today, when it was finally over I kinda wished I went SKS instead.
