We’ve got a big storm coming in later today. The winter storm warning was updated with even higher amounts of snow, 8-16" in the valley. If we get that much who even knows how long it will be before the trails to the office will be rideable again.
You guys, it’s 40 and sunny here. Stop bumming me out by talking about weather that’s gonna hit us here in a week. Jeez!

It gets plowed, sometimes, but when and where seems to depend on which city that section of the trail is in / which side of the river it’s on, at least in my area. Like I seriously think the trail goes through 3-4 cities on just the 3-ish miles of trail between home and work. The city I live in seems to be particularly shitty about plowing anything in a park, which is how I access the trail.
What do you mean by it goes through 3 or 4 cities?
Near me, the river is a border between cities and the trail can alternate between which side, east or west, of the river it’s on. There’s also an area close by where the borders of four cities meet at the trail, so you can technically ride through three different cities in just a half mile or so.
These are separate cities within the suburban/exurban mess that’s the Salt Lake valley, not anything fancier than that.
Ah, I think we’re defining the word ‘city’ differently.

'spose to snow here this week, maybe. At sea level. That’ll be a treat. By that, I mean, it’ll be death on a stick in the streets. I’m still gonna ride, but will avoid traffic at all costs.

the wedge is closing at 7pm tomorrow! first time since 2018 (that wasn’t forced by curfews and killer cops)
40 degree temperature swing in the midatlantic from friday afternoon to saturday morning, high of 40f on saturday.
I forsee a day spent indoors, patiently explaining to my kid that actually bike repair is very interesting and fun, but that she’s only allowed to watch me do it.
