Nothing new, been a thing as long as I can recall. My first MTB had mismatched tires back in ‘96. Most off-road bikes have or should have mismatched tires, they’re doing very different things at either end of the bike. Business in the front with the tire of influence. Party in the back gettin’ fast and loose. Ya know, the definition of mullet. :metal:
