Which clipless setup?
want me to loan/sell you a pair? i bought a “package” deal with 4 pair of pedals (all the crmo spindle, entry level) and 3 cleat sets.

ideally these will become the standard pedal for me, but i don’t need all 4 for right now.
Maybe…? Loan or sell, which would you prefer? How much? PM me.

Also, Ian (the elder) needs to find that set of Ultegra pedals and sell them to me.
vintage time ATAC carbon with Ti spindle ftw

and spd-sl road
hi 5 i got those atacs
I’ve only ever ridden Time Aliums for MTB pedals, so I’m pretty biased.

Brent got some of these used:

He said they feel waaay better than the older aliums he used before before.

Time pedals are a lot more expensive new though, so it’s good to wait to find a used pair if you can… They will last forever.

Crank Bros are definitely gonna be a lot cheaper… And the egg beaters will shed mud and are much lighter.
i’d be afraid those would transform into fucking Megatron or something

anyone used the mavic road pedals?

got the same one stuck on my old mtb (GT LTS), wish I could remove them cause they are my favs! maybe some strength and oil might do the trick.

I haven´t run into a stuck pedal that couldn´t be defeated with some WD40 and a cheater bar. Standing the bike upright and using my feet has been a helpful method for me when in a pinch, you can put your whole weight behind it this way without killing your hands. Be wary of rounding it out though, make sure the wrench is fitting nice and snug before going to town on it.

lolz @ white folks.
Go with SPD.
Get some M-520s and be done with it.
Doing this. The bike shop guys recommended it too. Apparently SPDs require much less maintenance.

I’ve been enjoying my crank bros candys a bunch this week. Can’t wait for my sidis to arrive (hope they fit!)

youd be afraid of this…why?

Coz Megatron gonna kick your ass!

didn’t read this whole thread so I hope this wasn’t addressed already but:

I just snagged some SPDs off a buddy of mine and now I need shoes. Recommendations?
First time to clipless btw.

my sidi bullets were cheap, fairly comfortable, and have held up to lots of use

Yeah, I see Bullets on sale pretty often. Aside from that, I don’t really know. I’ve got some Specialized BG shoes that are ok, and some Shimano road shoes that feel pretty good.

Try to find some Bullets or cheap used dom’s if you can. Or see if you can just find any pair that fits for super cheap to see if you like clipless (you will like it)
also Mountain shoes > road shoes for anything but racing.

I run both of these pedals. And SPD’s on the polo bike.

Thanks guys. I didn’t even know where to start so that helps.

alternatively, used other nice shoes. s-works, mavic/adidas, i dunno what else.

Confused…
What maintenance is required of Time Atacs?

Don’t know about Time Atacs, but I’ve had to grease and adjust the bearings in my Shimano pedals, which is a bit of a pain.

I will have these. Right after my scandium/carbon Kona frame and Easton tubular wheelset. But for now my ATAC Aliums are awesome.
