You're gunna hurt yourself: Carry Shit Olympics (aka the Cargo Bike thread)

Checking now…:grimacing:
Marley, that’s a real badass build and you should buy it!

I want a basket bag for the giant wald on my crust fork. What’s out there?

What basket? What dimensions? I’ve got this heavy ass roll top swift that I’m not using.

I used it on my crust till I got the big bin for it. It works well on the rack without a basket but doesn’t have half the capacity as the bin which changed my crusted bike from a bike with a big rack to a Cargo Bike.
I highly recommend a 17 gallon bin for the crust fork.

This one specifically is very very good.

I have the wald giant delivery basket on there. I just miss having the organization and semi-permanent collection of things that my 137 bag had.

Depending on the size of your semi-permanent collection, could using something like a handlebutt bag work? I bought a Swift Ardea for carrying Lorry supplies (pump, mismatched tubes, tools, etc, with some room to spare). It’s usually stashed in the BIGANT, but the bar straps make it easy to move it to the rear rack should the bike be rollin’ heavy.

I’m trying to make a slight enclosure for my Bob trailer so I can haul the pup around and not have her try and squirt through the rails. I have some material, but I’m not sure on how to attach the thing. So far I’ve leaned towards the easy button of grommets and zip ties, while using this as some inspiration;

I have my flat kit in a frame bag. My daily carry in the smaller basket bag used to include a few coozies, various eating utensils, a slingshot, and at least one pair of gloves. I also liked having the semi secure storage always available. Went to get take out last night and just had to throw the food right in the basket.

i want to mount a flat and adjustment kit in a wp container on the underside of my platform with a lil lock on it

Rubbermaid bin

see i think these are shit
i have one in my car and it cracked on the first cold day when i barely bumped it

I don’t have any photos now but I used a combination of velco like the linked example and grommets and bungee cords. The actual enclosure was made out of corrugated plastic from Lowes.

does your trailer already have an anchor point somewhere you can clip a harness onto? and does pup have a suitable harness? it seems like that example is enclosed mostly for dog comfort so she doesn’t feel so exposed, and probably protects her from gravel and spray, but the actual security is being done by the harness

I’ve had very good luck with it. It’s bolted to my fork via six holes drilled directly through the bin. It’s taken all kinds of abuse and hauled unadvisedly heavy loads and shows no signs of breakage.

Ya but does it even get cold?

The bottom layer of bags is all cans, so it’s another 100+ pound load

Nice

My dumb little crate straps might be the best idea I had all of last year, excluding building the bike in the first place.
