fair point. the only person i’ve heard say “colourway” in real life was, at the time, wearing a supreme hat. i see the term as associated with some subcultures, and thanks to the fixedgearboom, the lines between skating-sneakerhead and bicycle enthusiast (however fashionable s/he may be) have been blurred
I think colorway is only jackass when the person saying “colorway” is wearing a flat brim cap or limited edition sneakers.

Otherwise, it’s a legitimate term.
My wife is a knitter and uses this word from time to time. She doesn’t understand why it annoys me, but that^ is exactly why.

That is a new word to me. While it seems that there are already more than enough words in the English language to describe that concept, I guess I am always happy to learn term. As the Inuit have many words for snow, so must the hipster have many words to describe neon clashing colors.

this

color palette sounds far more pretentious than colorway ever will. however, i feel like using the term colorway to refer to something that is the same color throughout is kind of awkward. just say it comes in this or that color.

don’t let bikesnob run your life, it’s just a word.

Why are so many people here worried about what kind of hats and sneakers people wear?

Haha

I like expanding my diction, but I like expanding it for a reason. A slight variation that has a slightly different meaning. Colorway from the dictionary definition and where it is used seems to me a fashion industry created word.

They say people judge you by how you talk. If this is the case I will not be using “colorway”.

go fuck a goat, pencildick

Shoes are serious business. I don’t take anyone without proper arch support seriously.

Don’t even get me started about those over pronating ass holes.

Only if I get to do it wearing a limited pair of Supra Skytops, a fitted hat, and a SAG bag.

No, youll do what he says either way. Go away.
