In case you need to take matters in your own hands.
Speaking of slip lanes, Magnuson park in Seattle got rid of the them and added another pedestrian crossing at the main gate, which vastly calmed down traffic on Sandpoint Way.

That’s not going far enough. You need one of those mobile spike strips that cops use to stop vehicles.
Can you deploy spike strips if you’re feeling threatened by a car? Stand your ground and all that nonsense?
Ortlieb needs to add a compartment to their panniers to deploy caltrops.
Which one of us is willing to test this, get arrested, and push it all the way to scotus?
ulock through the rear window, who the hell are they going to complain to
Usually people with cars like this (heavy tint, no plates, illegally parked) are the ones to get out and shoot you for doing that
At least it’s not an altima, that’d seal the deal
Maybe I should stop going about assuming the world is full of coked out people with restraining orders for domestic violence but there are enough of them and I kinda wanna live
all fun and games until your partner is a widow and/or your parents end up outliving you atmo
Yeah for sure. Sometimes just taking a picture feels too confrontational.
You gotta know when the hold em and know when to fold em
And know when to scold em
Was running on beach drive in west Seattle.
Wealthy neighborhood 2 lane road, parking on both side, 25 mph, sidewalk on the west side that is tiny and maintained for shit b/c all the homeowners are rich waterfront property havers who would never use it.
It is one of the busiest walk/run/bike streets in the city.
Guy had parked his Tacoma fully half on the tiny side walk and put a cone at the rear bumper out in the shoulder meaning If you wanted to go around you needed to jump over a cone, or walk into oncoming traffic.
I took the cone and tossed it up in his hood.
About 1.5 miles later he somehow identifies me (maybe ring… maybe a car brained pedestrian told him) and cuts across oncoming traffic and drives up onto the sidewalk in front of me to yell at me.
He yelled “come here buddy” as he struggled to pull himself out of his truck.
I laughed, said nope, and jogged around him. Being that he was too out of shape to catch on the sidewalk there was no way he could give me a talking to. Thankfully he didn’t continue to chase me in his truck.
I looked it up… technically it is trespassing to touch someone’s car, but spitting on it is not illegal.
I need to get some pepper spray.
you didn’t touch his car tho. just put his cone back where it would be easier for him to retrieve
That means I trespassed on a dude who buzzed me while I was running at night in Seattle on a side street with no sidewalk. I slapped the side of his truck as he passed me since he barely missed hitting me with his mirror (was a slow road). He got out and yelled a bunch. Called me names and threatened me. Eventually he got tired of trying to get me to fight him and got back in his truck. Luckily the passenger in the truck never got out. I’m probably not dead because there were bystanders around that would have seen them beating me down.
Oh man. I’ve done this 4 or 5 time just on my street.
I mean I did toss it up there. I dont think it dented his hood…. But it coulda.
The closest I ever came to getting murdered by a driver was when Clark Street was under construction and this Acura was parked right in the bike lane in a way that, due to the construction, made it impossible to pass it without dismounting and getting up on the sidewalk.
I was having a bad day and was already pissed off so while I was off my bike anyway, I decided to lean a bunch of a-frame construction barriers on the car.
Turns out that the guy was in there and I couldn’t tell because of the tints!
He jumped out red faced and screaming in a Russian accent and tried to catch me to kick my ass. I hopped on my bike and sped off down the sidewalk.
I only escaped because he had to move all the a frames off his car before using it to chase me and by then I was long gone.
OT for this thread but JA regardless; I saw this picnic table outside a local coffee shop and bougie furniture store. the notice warns users that the table may tip, but the table isn’t bolted to the slab it’s on and there are clearly visible anchor locations. instead of warning about a safety issue, just fix it?
